(Here’s Noelle’s recap of last night’s episode of Ugly Betty: Backseat Betty – Adam Rodriguez is HOT!)
This week on Ugly Betty, things are getting weird and no one is acting like they normally do. Betty is out to prove she’s fearless, Justin tries to fit in at his school, and Daniel is still sippin’ the crazy juice over at that “support” group of his. This episode is full of twists and is graced with a hot guest appearance by Adam Rodriguez. Besides it being Ugly Betty night, that was reason enough for me to tune in.
Betty wants to mix it up and prove to everyone that she can take chances. Betty and Hilda are visited by Hilda’s old high school boyfriend Bobby (Adam Rodriguez) and hellooo is he pretty. He’s a sexy badass and both the girls have some amount of feelings for him. Betty’s first order of business is to get him to teach her how to drive. Just a coy move to spend some time with him. Smooth Betty. Determined to keep Betty away from Bobby, Hilda and Archie set her up with a nerdy guy with some weird congestion problem. But our beautiful man specimen Bobby already has quite the influence on Betty and convinces her to blow him off. In the end it doesn’t matter anyway because he still has feelings for Hilda. He’s a sweety about it and him and Betty share a kiss and Betty is able to prove to herself that she can take risks.
Meanwhile, Daniel is still oblivious to the obvious cult that he’s a member of. He’s buying and drinking their “special” water, following their diet, and he’s walking around with a weird necklace that looks like it’s made out of chestnuts. I feel like I should roast it over an open fire. Natalie is still a crazed nutcase and she’s hellbent on keeping Daniel on the right track. The other members of the cult keep rambling on about how Daniel needs to get to level 5 and be reunited with Molly. Geez Daniel, don’t let them make you the ritual sacrifice.
Justin is still being bullied at school and has enlisted Marc for advice. Marc helps him befriend the cheerleaders and the popular girls of the school to try and fit in. I thoroughly enjoy seeing Marc in a t-shirt. They all work hard to prepare for homecoming and it obviously means a lot to Justin to finally be accepted by his peers. But of course, there’s always gotta be that group of jerks around and they want to humiliate Justin. They crown him Homecoming Queen and embarrass him in front of the school. He doesn’t let it get him down and he walks up there with a killer amount of sass. He thanks them and gives the crown to his mom. Awww suck it football players! In the biggest twist in awhile, Justin announces to his family that he’s not gay. Oh, Justin. Just embrace it.
Willie is still being blackmailed by what she thinks is the detective but is actually her very messed up daughter. She’s trying everything she can think of to come up with the money. Ever since Connor stole her money she hasn’t had the same cash flow that she used to. She wants to try modeling for the money but eventually lands on a bigger decision. She quits Mode and decides to take Connor up on his offer to be together. Gasp! Mode without Willie? Say it isn’t so! The episode ends with Claire telling Wilhelmina that Connor’s body has been found. What?? NOOOOOOOOO! Don’t you dare kill him and his accent off ABC! Don’t you dare! You’ve already done this to me before! Poor Wilhelmina
Even if her forehead doesn’t move I can tell she’s heartbroken.
