I saw the first episode on the BBC and now this clip. SO I haven’t seen everything but he is my favorite. I don’t see the “cocky attitude” that he was accused of having. I think he seems kind of humble actually. Anyway I love Danyl. I also like the format of XFactor more than the format of Idol. 3 girls, 3 guys, 3 groups and 3 over 25 adds to the variety a bit. We should have a US XFactor and get rid of America’s Got Talent. It’s a freak show.

That’s a good rendition, he should record it. Stop writing about how he “looks”, how does he “sound?” and I think Prince would be proud. How’d they get permission?

He reminds me of David Cook, the eyes just stare at you. they dont sell the song, or show any emotion. Sounded much better then his prior ones

Haha, Keith. I think I probably have just as much distaste for Danyl as you do, but I don’t even think it’s fair to compare. ;p

I do love Stan though when he’s not in his lower register, it’s fantastic.

There is something about him I just don’t care for. I can’t put my finger on it, but to me he appears to be on the arrogant side. I get that feeling from him. I may be wrong, but he appears that way to me.

This was a good vocal tonight, but the song choice was weird for me. Singing Purple Rain a million times is blah for me, but then I really never cared for Prince either. Maybe I am already biased? Anyhow, good vocal.

hai, are you kidding me? Have you been watching the whole show? Simon’s just as nasty to the contestants here than to those on American Idol. It’s just that you haven’t seen it. If you’re talking about his consistently positive comments towards Danyl, well (aside from the fact that he actually deserves the praise) it’s because Danyl is his act, and Simon his mentor!

Simon keeps praising Danyl Johnson but his version of Purple Rain wasn’t a patch on the version in last years show sung by Ruth Lorenzo. Ruth should never have been voted off the show – she was better than any of the contestants. Her version of ALWAYS was spectacular.
