Hiro goes back in time to save the life of Charlie, played by Jayma Mays who is also Emma Pillsbury from Glee. We get to see some flashback scenes from Season 1 but with a lot of additional footage in the diner.
It was also nice device to introduce HRG infidelities — which unfortunately felt like filler to me. This season however has mostly been about characterizations so at least the writing is consistent. It was also an excuse to replay a scene which included Isaac from Season 1. Woohoo.
After in fact saving Charlie’s life with the help of Sylar of all people, Samuel tricks Hiro into going to the carnival with him in the future. It got a little convoluted at the end since I’m not sure if Hiro disrupted the time space continuum — and Samuel “kidnapping” Charlie didn’t quite make sense. And then Hiro started acting like an idiot again looking for Charlie in the carnival.
But before I could get a chance to take this all in and rant, Samuel tells Hiro that he needs him to fix a mistake he did 8 weeks ago. And then we get a reveal from “8 weeks ago”:

Gasp.
Mohinder! We must fix this wrong.
And just in case you guys missed the news, Adrian Pasdar was just kicked off the cast. Well, Nathan Petrelli is dead anyway, so that was not a surprise.
The pacing of Heroes has really slowed down these days and feels like a lazy drama now, but I’m not hating it anymore. This is a good thing right?
