Jay Leno Says He Would Return to “The Tonight Show” if Asked

Jay Leno said in an interview with Broadcasting & Cable magazine that he would return to the Tonight Show if asked by NBC.

Jay Leno’s primetime ratings are bad and affecting all the programming at NBC.

  Wasn’t NBC already struggling? Isn’t it on average the lowest rated now? Even regularly beaten by the CW every now and then?

  I’ve been reading that the evening news on the local affiliates are now affected by the ratings slump (when it wasn’t before Leno’s show). And shows that used to be on at 10 are suffering even more now that they are on an earlier time.

  Leno’s show is terrible. Couple that with the fact that it is competing against other networks’ primetime dramas, then I am not surprised that the ratings are so low. I also don’t want him to return to the Tonight Show. I am loving Conan (but I have always loved Conan).

  The one time I saw him w/ Halle Berry, he seemed awkward and uncomfortable. I think when you remove the desk and he sits on the couch, like Oprah and Ellen, it takes away his shield. They’re trying to turn his nightime show into a daytime talk show at night.

  Love Conan hate NBC. Politically biased and the horrible msnbc what a piece of trash. I hope thy both fail. MSNBC has no audience ratings whatsoever and just keeps getting meaner and more ridiculous leaving only the worst spectrum of political zealots yelling for more which decreases ratings. It’s a joke. Fox has more viewers on their 9 am show than nightime msnbc lol.
