WOW. That was a TOTAL FAIL. Danyl Johnson was clearly out-of-tune when he sang “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” on The X Factor tonight. Shame. He could be going home now after landing in the Bottom 2 last week.

Danii Minogue: It was out of tune right at the beginning
Louis Walsh: I want people to give you a second chance
Cheryl Cole: You don’t do it for me
Simon Cowell: We’ve contradictory things going on here – When he comes out confident, he’s cocky. When he tones it down, he needs to be cocky!

Is Danyl really the most hated contestant in the world?

Rickey: Are you able to watch at the link you gave to the itv site? It always tells me “This video is not available in your location.” That’s why I always have to watch the clips on YouTube.

I m very sad to see Danyl to be so toned down. He is so bogged down by the pressure of being in the Bottom 2. For sure that is a hit on one’s confidence. But he needs to show tht it’s not over for him, and that he is one of the best performers on the show.

Love his performances, and he needs to show again and again why he’s good.

Terrible performance — haven’t heard the other performers yet this week, but unless they stunk even more — which is hard to believe possible — he’s gone.

Too bad — after his audition, I thought he would be contending right until end.

Rickey: You’re completely misunderstanding me tonight. I’m not asking you to get the videos since I can watch them on YouTube.

I just want to know if I’m the only one who can’t watch the videos and complete episodes on the itv site. I thought they were blocking all US ISPs, but if you can access them, they’re obviously not doing that. Or do you have some way of getting around their ban?

I’m having the same problem with the CBC site (Canadian TV) getting messages that the videos aren’t available in my area which is sad since I’m in their viewing area.

@DonMi: The DailyMotion vids should be working in the U.S. I just can’t upload them all to DailyMotion, so your YouTube links are OK.

Also yes, the X Factor videos blocked in the U.S. but I found a way to get around it! Yay!

Again, Danyl was just okay. I checked out Don’s link to X Factor. Olly has a nice voice and lots of stage presence. And I really liked Lucie! I’d say she’s my fave so far although I am partial to Carrie Underwood’s rendition of “Sweet Child O’Mine.” Anyone who hasn’t seen Carrie’s version should look her up on youtube.

It wasn’t his fault. He said on the xtra show, that he couldn’t hear the backing track, which is why he started off in the wrong key. That must have thrown him off quite a bit, but he managed to get it all together for the second half of the song…

I think a lot of you just judge him on this last performance. I know it was not his best, but I really felt sorry for the guy.
You should read the articles about him in the British Press. They are very hateful.
It’s not only the being in the bottom 2 that effected him that much, I think it’s all the negativity and hatefulness that’s surrounding him.
I don’t think anyone could ever be such a bad person.
I think the judges have to stop battling with each other, it’s starting to effect to show and the public opinion on some of the contestants.

Wow, Simon sure loves that some. Its the only song I’ve seen him always show some reaction to while its being performed.

That beginning was way off, he picked it up later in the song. The song was to big for him.

Dumb. All of you. Yes Rickey. You can be the dumbest. Too quick to badmouth. Example. Kris’ CD is gonna be mess. Look where that got you. Now for Danyl. IF you go back and watch it a few times you can see and hear that it was a very theatrical performance(Adam fans, jump in here) and in the verse leading up to the operative word “treasure” he is totally in character and totally brokendown brokenhearted unable to even sing. It’s a device I’ve seen used before and it WORKS. X Factor is not the right place for such emotional display such a calculated performance.

Danyl is completely over-rated – after the Subo thing in BGT the X-Factor bosses were hoping for a similar global phenomenon, but here we go again, thrusting inexperienced amateurs into the global spotlight…

The truth is, Danyl’s performance was awful on Saturday, but to be fair his pitching has never been the best, he wanders quite a lot anyway & his performances have been erratic & flappy from the start. This is NOT a World-Class vocalist (although none of the contestants are really).

There were far more talented people that the producers sent home as they wouldn’t be seen as having any input towards the development of artists who have cut their teeth on the professional circuit & are “already ready”. It’s not about talent, it’s about ratings & bloodsport (as usual).
