(Here’s Noelle’s recap of tonight’s episode of Ugly Betty: “The Wiener, the Bun and the Boob”)

This week Betty gets her own assistant! She’s swamped covering the worst jobs in New York City as an assignment for her first article. On the plus side, her assistant will help her finally maintain all the tasks her new job requires her to juggle. On the down side, her new assistant is Marc. But really, that’s a positive thing because who wouldn’t want to spend the day with Marc and be the weiner to his bun?

Daniel being a widower hasnt deterred him from being the Daniel we all know and love. He hires a sexy 6 foot tall blonde to replace Betty as his assistant. Too bad she’s terrible at the job. You can never have the best of both worlds. Sensing Daniel is drifting, Natalie offers to bring him to a new support group. It’s more like a cult. Kinda like one of those infomercials you’d see on ABC at 3 am that you always roll your eyes at but you can’t look away. Where it’s mostly motivational speaking in an attempt to brainwash you. Shockingly, Daniel is giving it a chance and this should be interesting to see where it goes in the coming weeks.

No Connor this week. :( But Nico’s back and Wilhelmina is keeping a close eye on her devious daughter. That’s not the only thing she has to worry about however, as once again she’s clinging to her job. She worries she might be replaced and decides to play nice in an attempt to save herself. Oh Willie, when your job is constantly in jeopardy its time to play nice for real so you can relax.

Hilda is still looking hot post baby weight and she wants to remind her man. I’m so glad she’s still dating the karate kid. I love seeing him on the show. Archie’s been busy with his campaign lately and Hilda thinks sending sexy pictures to him on her cell phone will rekindle their spark. When will people learn? Sexting NEVER ends well. It’s no different here as Hilda of course accidentally sends it to everyone in Archie’s phone, including her dad Ignacio. Oh boy.

Betty’s confidence dwindles when she finds out that she didn’t get her promotion because she deserved it. She beat Marc because they were part of a coin toss and Betty won with tails. Or as Marc puts it, Betty is nothing more than the buttocks of a quarter. Marc gets the best lines. Her mood doesn’t improve as she’s stuck with Marc covering the worst jobs in the city which include a back waxer, a guy who works in the sewer, those random guys who transport tourists on their bikes, and a hot dog. I really don’t understand fashion but if it means i get to watch Betty and Marc prance around as a hot dog and a bun then i’m okay with it. Marc’s not too okay with it and he delivers another great line. “As much as I love giant weiners flying at me…” Heh. Don’t we all.

Throughout their hectic day, Betty and Marc each get a chance to help the other in their career and they’re able to come to a new understanding with eachother. They even hug! Almost. Aww I just love whenever Betty and Marc bond. It’s so cute. I liked this episode. It veered away from the drama from last week and focused more on the comedic plotlines. Still left a bunch of unanswered questions so hopefully those are addressed next week.
