Wow, this song is in-your-face sexy! At first, I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t highlight Adam’s wonderful voice more but after a second listen, it suits Adam just fine although it is overproduced (as is much of what’s on the radio these days). I can’t wait to see this performed on the AMAs because as we all know, Adam breathes life into his performances. This type of music isn’t normally my thing but this is tres catchy and I think it’ll work nicely on radio. I’ve gotta say it’s been while since I’ve liked the electronic elements of a song so much. Adam has stated that the album has an ecclectic mix of songs that should appeal to everybody. I’m hoping that proves true. I’m especially looking forward to the Muse song.

I also wanted to add that I listened to the Sam Sparro song on youtube (had never heard of him before). What a cool song! I didn’t find it similar to Adam’s at all, however. The vibe was completely different, jazzier. Adam’s is more Britney-esque but with a tad more funk.

Ok, it’s fun and listenable, but who is singing this song? Doesn’t sound one bit like Adam. If I heard it on the radio, I wouldn’t have any idea who it is. Weird. Usually his voice is so identfiable. Maybe because it is in a lower range than he usually sings. At least with Time for Miracles, it sounds like Adam. Anyhow, catchy song. Question for Rickey: your poll only has 2 choices? What about everything in between “Love it” and “Ew”?

It’s a great first single. Very catchy. It may not showcase his beautiful voice as much as we would like, but I am sure the rest of the album will. I’ve listened to it about 5 times already, and it gets better and better. I hope ITunes has it soon.

@Oppie I think Sam Sparro worked on this song somehow…I don’t know I do know though that he did work with Adam on the album. I love the song Black & Gold.

Perez commented on how it sounded like B&G on his site, I can see the slight resemblance but it in no way is the beat & the concept of the song the same as Black & Gold.

I don’t know if this song has staying power. Not saying it doesn’t but I’m not saying it does either. I think the song came at a pretty good time, which is a huge advantage.

Now about sales…

This is a radio friendly song, & no doubt does it have potential, I’m worried about staying power. The song def has more staying more than LLWD though, if you’re going to compare the two.

I’m an Adam fan, but I didn’t care for this song. It sounded part Britney Spears, part Jamie Foxx and part Cheeks (Adam’s ex). I hope his album is not all electro-pop. You really couldn’t even tell it was his voice. Not my cup of tea.

Can someone please tell me how this musical God lost to Kris “I have no talent” Allen? Jesus H. Christ in a handbasket…this song is amazeballs and it absolutely blows Allen’s lame ass track out of the wa-wa. I’m calling it right now…Lambie will be #1 two weeks in a rown on the charts and Kris Allen won’t even crack the top 5 in his first week! Adam is a genius. He’s gonna play the industry like he did while on AI. Gonna keep going from one mood to another for the audience. First the TFM ballad (LOVED his voice on that) and then this catchy dance song that’s gonna do rather well on the radio and in the clubs, can you even imagine the remixes that will come from this? Although not my favorite Adam genre, I love that he picked to sing in a lower range and boy can he sing! Yea, although a pop/dance song at least he sings it unbelievable not like the other pop singers these days. That’s what differentiates him, he can sing the pants off any genre, capture different moods and entertain us ALWAYS.

He’s going to blow the roof off the AMA’s with this song. It’s just begging for dancers and an OTT performance which we all know he’s capable of.

Excellent choice for a 1st single. Sometimes I think people are thinking of themselves and what THEY want to hear from Adam and not what ADAM wants to hear from himself. Listen to his pre-Idol stuff….this is what he likes. He’s promised multi-genre material on his album, so he’s going to have something for everyone, but this is a genre that he really likes….electro, pop, dance. As for not sounding like Adam…listen to some of his pre-Idol stuff on youtube. This is his lower register that most aren’t familiar with. Of course it has the “produced” sound; that’s what pop music is right now. The lyrics couldn’t be more perfect for him. How many times have we heard him say “I just want to entertain you” in the past year? Say what you want about him, he stays true to himself and it’s refreshing.

As for the Kris comparisons…let’s just let it go. Idol is over.

I understand why Brittany has to synthesize her voice – cause it’s crap, but Adam shouldn’t have to stoop to that. Plus — as an older listener (not a prude) I don’t care for the song’s smutty-ness. Yeah, yeah it’s all in the interpretation, but we get it. Sorry but Kris and Live Like You’re Dying is more authentic-it actually sounds like his soulful sexy self. Too bad it’s not getting the hype. Freakin’ love it!! Just listened to B&G 3 times back2back. There’s really no comparison –beginning pulsating beats maybe for a few seconds but there is so much more bombast in Adam’s. I’m not surprised. The song is undeniably catchy and melodic. The song is written and produced by certified hit makers. What can you expect? My only problem is it sounded a lot like “Keeps Getting Better” by Christina. But isn’t all pop/dance songs in the Top40 now sounded the same? I just hope Adam will identify his own music with the other songs in his album.

I love his voice but this track seems to cover it up a bit, sigh. I have a dance background–love that but his voice is what caught the attention of millions and it’s beneath the electro-pop-beat here.

I really love the picture you posted and THAT should have been his CD cover! That is more him than the glam-shopped photo. Boy, that is a missed opportunity.

Let’s hope there are more full-out clear vocals on this CD. I’d go mad if I had to listen to his voice buried under the music. He is the music because his voice is a finely tuned instrument which needs no cover-up, it’s flawless.

I said it for TFM, i’ll say it for this 1. He sounds like a high pitched Richard Marx. Except ofcourse when he started singing with the british accent for a couple versus. LOL w/e that was about. His voice never reminded me of Marx on show, so they must be doin some wierd autotune crap to him.

Only the super delusional fans thought he was a rocker, anyone that simply payed attention(not KARA) knew otherwise.

This is exactly what i expected from him, cept i figured it wouldnt be so bad. I assumed he would be a live singer unlike Spears, but with all the computer in his voice i dunno if he can. It certainly wont look natural.

What I’m hearing is a generic watered down version of something you’d hear in any club in America. I don’t hear one ounce of original in it. My country lovin’, non dancin’ husband just heard me playing this for his first time and he danced across the living room on his way to the kitchen. Was it pretty? Nope. Was is cute? Hell yes.

He would be the last electro pop Adam fan to EVER jump on the Adam wagon and his comment when it was done playing? “I have to give him props on that; it’s catchy as hell and you can’t help but shake your ass to it.”

It’s a fun track and totally screams for you to dance which is what Adam has said he wants to do for us all along. The album looks to have such a wide variety which is so intelligent of him. That GaGa song..Fever…has such a retro TRex sound to me. Can’t wait to see what he does with that.

BTW…no problem Melissa…you’re entitled to your opinion. By trying to start something with Adam fans though (your last two sentences), aren’t you just as bad? State your opinion…you’re surely entitled. No artist can please everyone. It’s all good.

I sincerely wish the best for Kris and Allison but I don’t really see their stuff going anywhere….and it hurts me to say that about Allison cuz she can sing her ass off!!! She really deserves the opportunity, but who knows -the 2nd single could knock it out of the park. I’m not sure if “Friday” will rise on radio like it could.

Wow. The haters are out in full force. Not that I’m surprised….

It is one of those songs that grows on you after a couple of listens. I didn’t care for it the first time I heard it, but it grew on me quickly the next time I played it. Now I can’t stop listening and grooving to it! Much like Lady GaGa’s songs for me. I predict it will be a hit! Adam is going to bring the house down with that song at the AMA’s! And I bet Time For Miracles will jump up in sales again when 2012 comes out in theaters.

I am one of Adam’s biggest fans, but I find this song a bit of a let down, mostly because of the overprocessing of his voice. I’m hardly representative of the public that will decide the success or failure of this, and I hope it succeeds wildly. I just also hope that in the rest of the tracks we get more of the real, pure Adam voice that we’ve all fallen in love with. Regardless, I will be purchasing the album not only for myself but copies for friends as well. It’ll take a hell of a lot more than some overprodcution and overprocessing to turn off my Adam fandom.

I have to agree… I think just because it’s Adam, people are unwilling to say something is not good. I just don’t think this is great. It’s not bad… I mean, it’s fun. But I think it’s unoriginal, overproduced, and predictable stuff in what comes out of Hollywood anymore.

Sorry guys, but I honestly thought some of Kris’s songs were better than this… “Written All Over My Face” sounds great!

I’m a huge fan of both Kris Allen and Adam Lambert (Adam Lambert was my favorite in concert)… but I have to admit, I liked Kris’s “Live Like We’re Dying” better than this.

Yep sounds just like the Sparro song except for a different chord progression, Adam modulates and changes the melody in the chorus while Sparro doesnt at all, Adam over dubs harmony vocals in the chorus and bridge, Bridges are completely different, and Sparro pulls way down in the last verse and Adam doesnt. Oh and Sparro’s lyrics are veiled spirituality and Adams are partially veiled sexuality. So really the only thing they have in common is the faux ring modulator bass line which are at very different tempos and levels in the mix. On this criteria
100s of techno pop songs are the same song.

i must admit initially i did not like it very much. i thought the song did do adam justice and did not fortray his powerful voice but after listening over and over again, i realized it is not bad at all. i guess it will be a smash hit.
