People has an exclusive interview with Mia Michaels who explained why she resigned from So You Think You Can Dance this season.

Excerpt:

Q: Why did you decide to move on from So You Think You Can Dance?
A: It’s been an amazing five-year journey and I am in a place where I have all these great opportunities that have been presented to me and I am ready to take on all these challenges. So when I was working on the show, I wasn’t able to really focus on anything else. Now I’m really focusing on these other projects that I can’t pass up. I think that’s pretty much the main reason why I left the show.

As I have said, the back to back seasons probably made her realize how much of her professional life the show was taking. Also, must be hard to work just a short time with the type of talent that comes through the show and then have to let them go. Now she can start some projects with them.

her excuse makes not sense at all. she says she has no time for the US show, yet she does things for the foreign shows that take an equal amount of effort to put together a piece.

the real reason is she is selfess and is trying to market herself internationally. what a bitch, and not the sexy kind either

I will honestly miss her pieces. They are some of my favorites (well, most of my favorites are hers). But I’m glad she’s now able to expand her unbelievable talent into other areas. I really hope to see her somewhere else soon.

It’s time, Mia. Loved what you did on the show, but your work on it and your comments as a judge were becoming rather predictable. I will miss you, but I am glad that you are moving forward. Good Luck To You!
