Wow, another amazing routine from Wade Robson on So You Think You Can Dance. I loved this.

Here are my impressions of the show:

I do not like the new stage. Some angles we are used to seeing in the more “open” stage of before are lost. The side angles on this stage are horrible. It also feels less intimate now. From a wide angle, the dancers looked swallowed up by the massive stage. Nigel Lythgoe please fix this!

Also, I’m a little upset that Ryan Conferido’s head stand is no longer included in the opening credits.

The routine was fantastic. I agree about the new stage. I really liked the other one b/c it seemed more intimate. And yes, this one does kinda just swallow up the dancers.

ya not a fan of the new stage either. i liked being able to see close ups of their faces and their expressions. It feels too distant now

Totally agree with you Rickey. I miss the old stage where we got to see the dancers from a lot more different angles, and I, too, miss seeing Ryan’s signature headstand in the opening. On the other hand, really diggin’ this routine! That was smokin’!

This season already has my blood pumping.

I appreciate the fact that they want to keep the show current and fresh, but why use the same dancers in the opening vid for 5 seasons and then highlight only the season 5 group? I am feeling a little like they are throwing those dancers under the bus. Without the likes of Blake, Snow, and Artem, SYTYCD wouldn’t have touched so many!

Jacob killed it with this routine. I think he’s the best out of the guys from this routine, when he came out snapping in the middle.

For the girls, Pauline still catches my attention.

I also agree that the new stage is bad. I think they overcompensated with the girl’s makeup because the audience and cameras were so far away.

boo I don;t like the new stage either… why are they taking A.I.’s leftovers? isn’t that where season 1-6 had their finales?
anyways, I miss Ryan’s headstand too.

I’ve been saying that about the stage since the finale show season 5. It’s not the same feeling with this stage. Unless they change the camera angles the audience isn’t gonna get the same emotional effect or connection with the routines as the previous seasons. I loved the routine, but I wish it was danced on the other stage! I agree Rickey, please fix this Nigel!!!
