He reminds me of Danny Gokey, but not as good. Danny would have done much better on this song, I’m sure, particularly the way he killed Come Rain or Come Shine. I think the Brits used up all their talent on Britain’s Got Talent. Aint’ got no more. If this is the best X-Factor can do, it ought to fold. Hey, Simon, guess what? I’m in a league of my own, but you wouldn’t want to hear me sing. The band is good, though; it seems bigger than on AI. And, hardly needs mentioning, but what fool would sing Feelin’ Good, as overdone as it is, but particularly after the “worldwide star” with the incomparable voice and amazing performance skills has so recently sung it to wide aclaim?

Listen people, this guy may not be the greatest singer but he sings well enough and he has CHARISMA! The music business is an industry and unless you have the vocals of Susan Boyle you need to be a great package, that combines a decent voice with nice looks and a good stage presence. This guy has it.

You guys have been replaying this “overrated” canard for so long you’re starting to sound like a broken record. Danyl is the hottie to end all hotties, and in the end, isn’t that what reality TV is all about? It’s not just straight talent that gets you by, but also the ability to sexually arouse your audience! (It’s not called the “X” Factor for nothing, you know.) And being bisexual, Danyl clearly can arouse both genders without ruining the fantasy for anyone! …Unless he starts dating, of course, in which case he can kiss his dreams if stardom goodbye. I think we all know why Adam waited till AI was over before he started cavorting around town with his little boytoy.

This is a very old song from a musical called Roar of the Greasepaint by Anthony Newley. Many people have sung it especially rat pack people like sammy davis. Then Michael Buble picked it up. Then Muse. Adam took the Muse version and hit it out of the park = especially the recorded version which is a beautiful piece of work. Johnson is doing the more tradition version a la Buble and I think he does a very good job. You can not compare the two versions – apples and oranges.

Ohhh that was not good. Who is this guy? What is X-Factor? Is that like American Idol? He has a strange voice. I couldn’t listen to a whole CD of it. THere is a tone to his voice that is not pleasant.

There should be a rule: Never compare an AI contestant to an X factor contestant. It’s like comparing apples & oranges!

He did a very good job with the song, one of my faves, and he does have that Sammy Davis vibe.

Danyl’s vocals were quite good, but unfortunately Simon set him up for comparison with Adam Lambert. Danyl’s no Adam Lambert: neither as smooth of voice nor as smooth in how he moves by comparison. Certainly much less power and range. Danyl’s almost handsome at a glance but is actually only cute in a bug-eyed, jittery sort of way. Take a closer look; he doesn’t have the flair or look of an Adam Lambert or any other real stage star. Still, Danyl’s singing is good enough to sell more than just a few CDs.

Danyl did a wonderful job and the best cover song a contestant has sung imo. You guys are funny. Why do you feel the need to bring Adam in every post? This is about Danyl. Adam isn’t the best singer out there. He is a cabaret singer at best. Btw Adam will never have sex with you so please quit feeling the need to make entitled comments that he nor anyone else cares about. You Adam fans mean nothing to him. danyl4thewin- i’m not much of an adam supporter to be honest, i was glad when kris won american idol but i’m not gonna lie, the boy can sing his face off and perform circles around danyl. if you call adam a cabaret singer then danyl is a karaoke singer at best. danyl cant even measure up to 1/10 of the skill and technique that adam has.

and for you to say that adam should not even be brought up in this post, you are wrong once again. SIMON set himself up for comparison. he always likes to give his contestants on the show past songs that american idols have shined at, for example- remember when he made one of his contestants last year do ‘billie jean’ after david cook so brilliantly did it a few months before. simon wanted this to happen.

I’m quite perplexed at Simon’s wild hyping of this guy. He’s really just not that good. The voice has a sort of unattractive quality, and he has recurring pitch issues. He does have a fair amount of charisma and confidence on stage, but as a singer he’s barely passable. I do think that the comparison with Adam Lambert is a fair one, in that both were singing competitions, looking for a global star, with Simon hyping both of them, and there is absolutely no comparison at all. Adam sang circles around Danyl on this – really hit it out of the park, and as charismatic as Danyl is, he can’t touch Adam in that department either. Normally I really respect Simon’s opinion, but something is going on here, because this guy just does not deserve the over the top praise he’s getting from Simon.

I agree with the Adam fans. After hearing Adam’s version, especially the itunes version, nothing else sounds even close to that league. He’s spoiled every song I’ve heard for any singers who try to sing it again. I also like them all better than the originals.

By Far, the best rendition of this song ever, so much better than ALambert, Buble, he is an amazing live performer, great arrangement, he brings every song he sings to a whole new level, really, really terrific moves, superb musical variety, so exciting. Outstanding in every way! Every live performance of his could go right onto a record. No question about it. True performer. True talent.

Adam and Danyl both sang Feeling Good, both end up in the bottom two. WTF, just when I was starting to accept that Adam did’t win American Idol, they go and pull this crap! They could have at least changed the song! When I think of How both men were treated just for ratings it makes me sick. I will never vote for anyone again. I knew when my votes were blocked that Adam was going to be robbed. They even had the nerve to blame the people who live in Arkansas!
