Adam Lambert “Time for Miracles” has leaked.

The song is part of the soundtrack of the Roland Emmerich disaster film 2012 which opens worldwide on Nov. 13. I think this is amazing. Adam Lambert fans all over the world are very happy right now. We’ve been waiting a long time for this.

Adam recorded the song with producer Rob Cavallo who also recorded a couple of tracks for Adam’s upcoming album which will be released on Nov. 24.

The video for “Time for Miracles” will premiere before the Michael Jackson film “This Is It” which opens on Oct. 28.

Sure Adam can sing, but so what? That doesn’t excuse this bombastic, cheesy, shitty song. Many a good singer have tried and failed to save a song that can’t be saved. Add Adam to that list.

Many have compared this to the execrable Aerosmith “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” and they’re right only insomuch that it’s another pretentious theme to a pretentious disaster film.

But Adam’s real talent isn’t even on display here – on AI, for the most part, he understood that emotion and intricacy was a part of his aesthete, even when he was wailing (sometimes he just wailed to the point of supefaction). Here, he sings a cliched melody we’ve heard a million times before until the final part of the song, where he uses that 1980s hair metal screech, signifying nothing.

Adam’s voice deserves more that this song. It’s more awful than “No Boundaries”.

I wish people would stop trying to pit Adam against Kris. They are the best of friends. They actually wish the best for each other. the first 50 secs or so, sounded like a whiney Richard Marx. Haruhi is right, it doesnt sound like Adam till after 3+mins.

Song is ok, ironically for me the screaching part is the only decent part of the song. So out of the 4:40 only 40 of em are worth anything.

It fits exactly what its meant to be tho, an end credit song. From the start its just got that vibe to it.

OK, I love, love, love Adam Lambert. Having said that, I’m not 100% loving this song. It does remind me of Aerosmith’s disaster ballad except I like that one better. This isn’t bad, though. Adam’s vocals are great as usual. Can’t wait until his album is released!

Before I even clicked on this post to read the comments I KNEW there would be Kris comments. Why can’t everybody just LET IT GO??? If you like Kris..go support him. If you like Adam..go support him. It’s really not that complicated.

I think the opinions are really interesting. The great thing for Adam is that this song is totally different than his first single will be. He’s going to have some MAJOR bases covered with his first two songs. He’s pleasing the people that really liked his Idol performances with this song, and then he’ll please the people that like more of the Crawl Thru Fire types with his next release. Pretty much a win/win.

What other Idol, from any season, has released two back-to-back singles within weeks of each other in different genres? It’s pretty easy to see why the industry giants have been fangirling over him. He’s got “it” and they all know it.

I agree with the other posting that people should stop comparing Adam and Kris. If you guys don’t like Adam then just leave the thread. Support Kris instead or the other idols you like. No one is forcing you to like Adam. Besides if you don’t like Adam during idol i really don’t think you will like him after. Suggest you make good use of your time. And support the other guy’s music.

Rickey, the song has just been pulled from youtube. Word is that it was recorded as it played on a radio station, and the quality is not the best. Rob Cavallo stated that Adam has recorded 3 songs with a 30 piece orchestra, and this is obviously one of them. Even with the “poor” quality, I think the instrumentals are amazing. Also I can hear 3 layers of Adams voice as he overdubs himself. So the US I-tone version will sound even better than what we heard today. The suits at Sony music must be smilin’ today !!!!!!!!Such a huge reaction to this song world-wide.

@Keith – as an Adam fan i say i love it!!!! It is everything Adam. Which i know you wouldn’t understand given that you are not a fan. Quite understandable. AndI also like Adam’s version of NB. He sang the better version. But sadly, IMHO, his version of the song was not promoted as he didn’t win idol. mmmm Imagine if he won, i believe that song would not be considered as a bad song.

I really like the song and will buy it when it is available on ITunes and I can download it on to my I Pod. I like Adam and Kris and wonder why the haters of Adam or so often Kris fans. Maybe what one of the posters said about it being Gokey fans causing trouble is right. I remember during the tour all the videos of Adam and Kris obviously being close can’t rub off on the fans of both. If it is Gokey fans “stirring up trouble” as said on one of the posts-shame on you. The song is terrific. Haters to the left baby. I smell a very big adult contemporary hit. Only someone with a wide vocal range could have pulled this off and Lambert succeeded IMO. It’s not fair to compare Kris Allen’s to Lambert but I suppose some fans have too much time on their hands and just can’t let it drop. Adam fans are not bitter. We have NOTHING to be bitter about. How sad that lately it seems Rickey’s “bitterberts” are Kris fans. Celebrate your favorite. Leave Adam alone. He’s gonna do just fine.

For those that don’t already know it, this song was co-written by Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider who were partners…not sure if they were married or not. At any rate, they wrote this while she was struggling with cancer, which was a battle she lost in July of 2008. The words take on a whole new meaning when you realize the back story to the song.

I think these lyrics will touch so many people who can relate to what this couple was going though.

I personally don’t feel “cheese” at all…I feel the pain and struggle of a loving couple that was desperately hoping for a miracle so their lives could see a future together. I think Adam brings that stuggle to life perfectly with the amazing feeling that he puts into his vocals.

Gokey fan here, but I have to say I really love this song and will definitely purchase it on iTunes when it drops. He is so good with those big power ballads and I know this will be a hit as it is a gorgeous song.

Note to PhDude: Danny fans are not full of hate. There may be a few here and there as there are haters for Adam and Kris. But for the most part all of the Gokey fans on the fansites all wish Adam the best, and all the other Idols too. They all deserve a break and the chance to do their best on their albums.

I think it will be a hit! Better than ‘No Boundaries’ for certain. It is a movie power tune, but still it is listenable and Adam sounds awesome, as expected. Although I was not happy at all that Kris won AI, I got over it long long time ago.
I think Kris and Adam have very different styles, honestly, once I got over the fact that Kris won, I have not compared them at all.

I like Kris’ Live Like We’re Dying, and I love Adam’s Time for Miracles, I don’t see any conflicts, and I don’t understand why little kids have to turn themselves to be haters.

Since Allison is not my cup of tea, I would not comment on her.

People who do not love the song, you are entitled to your opinion, you can say whatever you want, but please, have some respect for others who love it. Same thing for people who love it, it’s okay to show our love and support, but we should not and need not to compare Adam to anyone (he’s unique anyway!) or pay attention to the haters (u know that they do not have a life anyway!).

It feels good to finally listen to a mainstream song where there’s actual singing going on and beautifully I’ll add. No doubt he can sing this song just as beautifully “live”. Thats something almost all singers today can’t do.

Ok, FIRST of all! Why is everyone saying to the Gokey fans or since I’m a Kris fan.. blah blah blah. Isn’t anyone here a fan of them ALL like I am? I have liked all three songs that the Idols of S8 have released so far. Live Like We’re Dying, Friday I’ll Be Over U, and Time for Miracles. However… even though I like all of the songs I do think that none of them are really that amazing.
I think they all can do better and should do better.
When I first heard Time for Miracles I thought it was epic… maybe the trailer helped…buildings falling down.. crashing waves breaking statues… or maybe I just like the chorus.
Hearing the whole thing now, it did not affect me like it did one I saw the 2012 trailer with it. I got goosebumps and my eye started watering…so I guess when the whole song was released I was hoping for the same feeling. but I did not get it.

I think it’s great. I also think it is amazing that a woman dying of cancer wrote this song and that adam “sang” it. How great for her family! (unfortunately the woman passed away) Adam did it justice. Now if he would put out an acoustic version I would be very very happy. I love it when Adam does both sides to a song justice. Speaking of crazy, I first heard this song this morning at a youtube link that’s still there and snagged an mp3 hours ago. Are they dead over there at Sony? They released it in 3 European countries but amazon US says the release date here has been pushed back to Oct. 27th. By then everyone here will already have it via other sources. Nice work.

Using “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” as an example of a bad song is the weakest argument I have ever seen! That song was the one of the highest-selling tracks of the year when it came out!! And let us not forget Celine’s “My Heart Will Go On.” Face it, people. Cheesy power ballads like these easily become hits, and it won’t be any different for Adam. Please, gokey may very well do pretty good, but I don’t think he will do better than Kris or Adam. He is only singing songs that are put together for him. Sounds like he is just going to the studio with stuff that is already put together and putting a voice to it. Probably others discarded songs/demos. He says he has 4 songs done already. Whereas Adam and Kris are working with top producers and co-writing and have been working on albums for months and still yet to put an album together. They get more credit for putting their albums together and working hard at it, rather than Gokey’s manufactured karaoke album. “Here, Danny, listen to this demo and sing it, we will just do a voice over!”

Not a fan of this one, at all. It sounds like a pretty lame, cliche, and ultimately boring film theme song (which it is lol, so I won’t knock him for it). I can just picture someone staring out a window, watching explosions and buildings collapse, as this chorus plays.

What some people seem to be missing, is that this was a song chosen by the producers of this movie, and Adam was asked to sing it. And he did a beautiful job with it.(I really can’t even imagine anyone else touching it, now that I have heard Adam)
This is not Adam’s work. His original music will be on a different level than this, and is separate from this soundtrack.
Either way, all hate aside, it is undeniably a beautiful piece of work. Adam has a very unique ability to make his voice music in itself. Just awesome!

Hey everyone just chil-lax now. Adam was given a huge chance with this song..we all know this is not the type of music he will be singing most of the time; however that fact is he CAN sing anything. I think this displays for me aleast that versitily he has. Anyone who has listened to his performance pre-idol knows this; like Brigadoon etc. Only the “Great Ones” can do this reinvention and get away with it. Look at “Mad World” As for the Kris vs Adam thing that is the past and now we are moving forward to Adams future. I like Kris and Adam would not look favorable on bashing him at all. Let agree to disagree and just enjoy the ride because it is going to be an amazing one for all of us music lovers. By the way this song is a great story about hope and sang by someone who shows us anything is possible.

I commented earlier (#20) and said basically that while I love Adam, this song is just okay. Since then, this song has been stuck in my head nonstop. I even went to youtube and listened to a version that is a little more clear, and boy, does Adam nail this thing! He’s amazing vocally. I agree with the posters who say this type of material isn’t representative of what will be on his album, but let’s face it, he can sing anything and that’s why he was chosen for this project in the first place. This is a huge opportunity for Adam and he would have been pretty dense to turn it down. So while it’s not my fave Adam thing, he more than does it justice and I think it’ll be huge.
