(Here’s Noelle’s recap for tonight’s episode of FlashForward “Black Swan”)
It’s time to figure out this week’s episode of Flashforward and enjoy the headache that follows. We start off with a little flashback to the day the earth went dark.. and it’s in one crowded park. They give us such cheery music to listen to while watching people die. A bus crashes into a pond and a man who wakes up seemingly okay inside will turn out to be our token guest star for the week. His name is Ned and he’s a funky, oddly calm patient who rocks leather pants and has a flashforward that shows him with a creepy skin disease. He thinks he looks like Oprah. It sounds like a weird situation i’d end up seeing on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Nicole’s back this week and we’re hopefully going to find out why she’s been acting so weird. I wonder what she saw in her vision? Commodore Norrington alert. He’s graceful as ever while crashing into the hospital hallway and dumping coffee over himself. Olivia can’t shake this guy. And I’m grateful for that.
The blonde terrorist Alda from episode 1 is back and being requestioned by Demetri. She’s not giving in and she seems to know about Demetri’s impending murder. Dun dun dun. This sets Demetri off who’s desperate to do something constructive besides waiting for clues. The group heads to California on a tip and end up chasing a weird guy out the back door of a restaurant. Mark isn’t the best runner in the world but I sure enjoy watching him try. The guy isn’t the terrorist Demetri was hoping for. He’s just a pot dealer. Frustrated, Demetri admits his fears for his life and punches Mark in the face. Not cool buddy. Don’t you know violence isn’t the answer?
Again we’re shown an image of a girl that Bryce has been drawing in his notebook. Maybe she’s someone he saw in his vision? Lloyd saw himself sitting on the couch of Olivia’s house after getting an urgent phone call. He didn’t see Olivia so he doesn’t really have much to go on like everyone else. Nicole is in a church and wants to atone for something she hasn’t done yet. Her flashforward kind of looks like she’s drowning to me. She feels like she was being punished. Unfortunately for her, this guy is the least helpful priest ever. He gives her a t-shirt and sends her on her way. Jesus loves you buddy.
Back in weird patient land, Ned needs surgery but he’s the embodiment of extreme self confidence. Bryce knows what’s wrong with Ned but Olivia doesn’t want to listen to anything pertaining to the visions because she’s a bitterbert about her own. She thinks it’s clouding professional judgement to put so much stock in the visions. However, her refusing to accept help and advice just because a vision is related to the advice is just as bad. Fail Olivia. She finally takes her head out of her ass and takes Bryce’s advice and saves Ned’s life. Phew.
We’re treated to a very ominous proclamation by our lovely blonde terrorist. She doesn’t want us to ask how the blackout happened. She wants us to ask “Why?” We kind of are asking that, honey. Either way she’s left me even more confused than before as she recites a riddle and compares the blackout to the Black Swan Theory. “High impact, hard-to-predict, and rare events beyond the realm of human expectations.” Whatever she was rambling about struck a chord with Mark who is now convinced that breaking the law and heading to Somalia will give them their next clue. Go for it.
Nicole finally lets us all know that she saw herself being drowned in her vision. She believes she was being punished and Mark vows to protect her. Take him up on that offer Nicole! I’d let him protect me. Lloyd’s phone rings and the caller ID says Simon. Gasp. Could it be? YES! Dominic Monaghan sighting!! It’s CHAHLIEEEEEEEEE! Now that i’m done squeeing..WHAT DID HE JUST SAY?! Is he implying that he and Lloyd are bad guys and responsible for the blackouts? Psshaw! I love cliffhangers don’t you?
Questions from tonight:
Who will drown Nicole and why?
Is the phone call in Lloyd’s vision from Simon?
Who is the girl Bryce keeps drawing?
What’s in Somalia and how much does the blonde chick really know?
Will that priest get fired for being a total buttmunch?

Baahah @ the bottom screencap. Oh Rickey <3
When do we get to see more Charlie?
Probably soon
Someone told me 6th episode but i’m sure now that he’s been shown we’ll see him more. I hope
Is it possible that they figure out that Lloyd is a person of interest and Olivia decides to help the investigation by pretending to have interest in Lloyd in order to get info? And, that’s why she saw him and was acting how she was in her Flash.
