Well… singing the song that arguably was the best vocal performance of Carrie Underwood two seasons ago. Charlotte was awesome! Gina not better than Carrie, sorry.

Good performance…tuning a bit shaky. What’s with all this years singers trying to pull off past AI singer’s best songs??? Chris R doing Elliot, Gina doing LaToya and now Carrie, Chris S doing Taylor, Leslie doing Kelly Clarkson…

Hmmm…I like Gina, but I have to agree with Rickey. Carrie was better on this song. As was Melissa O’Neil of Canadian Idol 3.

I like Carrie’s arrangement better..and Carrie had better background vocalists….

I like that Gina stuck with the oringial arrangement..and I love her voice…i think the back ground vocals were horrible…..

but i still like gina….ROCK ON!

I loved gina’s performance and the fact she kept the song true to its orginal score……i thought the background singers were horrible and made the performance lack that of carrie’s

I totally agree, I think Gina did a good job with it and it was a good song for her, but Carrie’s performance of “Alone” is the #1 stellar performance that stands out in my mind from AI history (Carrie is my favorite Idol). Anyone who sings this song, now and in the future, will inevitably draw comparisons to Carrie–and if you want a good critique you have to be better than the original.

Carrie’s was great…but one thing negative to say….a lot of the chorus was mellowed out by the background vocalists…(WHO WAS AWESOME)

gina’s background vocalists sucked at this song…….

gina put a more “rock” vibe to it..which i liked…

PLUS GUYS..carrie did it with the full orchestra and all..plus it was during the ACTUAL top 12….

these performances haven’t hit the grandeur of being on the BIG stage…

Carrie Underwood’s version of Alone is my number one song on my Ipod, so I’m quite biased on my opinion; however I think Gina did rock it. I like it that she chose a different arrangement than Carrie so now if I play them right after each other I’ll have the WHOLE SONG! Where’s the MP3 DOWNLOADS!!! Those are my favorite!

Carrie’s version is very overrated. The backups did the higher notes on that song. The best rendition of this song done on a singing competition has to Jill Gioia from Rockstar Supernova last year.

As for Glocksen, meh.

It wasn’t special by any means. I have liked her a little less each week. This one didn’t help.
As much as I think Simon can be a preening Ass, I am amazed at how often I agree with him so far this season. The thing he said about hoping she’d be a little edgier, ditto. And he’s right. The satin sheath dress doesn’t go with the vibe I expect from Gina.

Gina’s voice was overwhelmed by the backup singers. Not sure whose decision that was- Gina’s or the show– but her version, standing on its own, was nothing out of the ordinary.

Ah hah. You really don’t miss a beat on this show, Rickey! I didn’t hear them call out the backup by name while watching the show. Thanks for the explanation. (At first I thought you meant that “Charlotte” was Carrie’s real name!)

Has definite potential, and by far the least irritating white girl on the show. Hope she starts bringing it so the untalented posers go home and not her. I like this one but she’s gonna have to work if she wants to last, luckily I think she’s safe this week.

gina’s version was good but no way can it beat carrie’s. carrie’s was like, the ultimate highlight of that season.
