why oh why did she leave the show! She is one of my favourite choregrapher… Shes an incredible dancer herself n i just love all her creativities & moves she gives to the dancers on the show…

Could be another project that she can’t officially announce yet. Perhaps the back to back seasons got her to realize its getting a little stale for her and she wanted to make a clean break and move on to something else.

all the best to Mia. I guess it’s time that she moves on, she had had wonderful 5 years, producing so many great choreographies, earned herself emmy nominations each year. She can’t possibly be doing this permanently, after all even though she is a great choreographer, the show needs new blood, really excited for what’s to come for sytycd.

I’m thinking she left for something bigger & better. She does say ‘look forward to whats ahead’.
She is a great choreographer, and I wish her well.
She’ll be missed for sure.

Sounds like she was offered something else. Of the US SYTYCD, makes it sound like maybe she’s going to do some other country’s show.
Well….. the US show is def going to miss her.
I just hope they can find someone else who is just as talented.

Mia Michaels is a talented choreographer no doubt. I cannot get the image of her berating ane belittling Jessica (one of the dancers from last year who danced with golden boy Will). She was downright nasty to her saying that Will was “carrying her” each week amongst other hurtful remarks. If the girl was that poor of a dancer she never would have been selected to participate. Ever since then I could not stand her. She made herself look like a first class jealous b—h.

I was really not a big fan of Mia Michaels. The reason is she came over in a very harsh way and she also seemed to care little about her appearance. She needed to have a bit more class in her delivery.

Mia can be a mean, cruel bi-atch as well as a wonderful encouraging woman so I have mixed feelings about this, personality wise on the show. But as a choreographer, she is one of the only one’s who could create a routine that made me cry. Also, I don’t understand why this is SO SUDDEN and in the middle of their FIRST DEBUT ON FALL TV. If anything, this is the moment they need her the most to prove to viewers that this is a show worth watching. And why was she even judging in Vegas? She should have made this announcement before the show started. I’m not devastated but very very sad and a little bit angry.

Please tell me this doesn’t have anything to do with Nigel bringing Pauler on the show….gaacck! He was all excited about the idea.

Mia is up there with the greats, why should she want to sit next to a Laker girl who can’t form coherent sentences?? If Abdul is coming to the show, then I’d be insulted if I were Mia. Mia takes this very seriously. What a loss for that show. I only watched to see her choreography.

Well, I’m going to be in the minority here and say I won’t miss her. She is so negative and berating of the contestants – in a very personal way such as “your smile really bugs me” which is what she said to Brandon last season. I can think of so many wonderful dancers that she got ugly with and I just won’t miss that. No one is so great that they should get a pass for that kind of behavior. She always came across as a jealous old maid. I don’t doubt that it has to do with Paula coming on board.

As a judge I hated her, but as a choreographer she is the best the show had. I will never, ever forget the door routine she did.

I didn’t like her, anyway. I never saw what others saw in her choreography (others reactions to her choreo just totally baffled me) and she was truly mean, bitchy, & ugly to some of the dancers. Even great talent (as everyone says she has) doesn’t excuse such uncouth behavior.

I won’t miss her.
