Kris Allen CD – A Rough Road Ahead

Kris Allen just released his first single Live Like We’re Dying — and the reception has been great so far. Kris is well liked, and as a fan myself, I am very happy for him. The single will be released on iTunes next week.

There are critics however who say that the song was not original to Kris Allen since the song appeared on the Japanese version of an album by The Script. This is a fair argument, but this is nothing compared to what is really happening behind the scenes: other than Live Like We’re Dyingthe rest of Kris Allen’s CD so far is a mess.

People have described it to me as: “It needs a lot of work.” With one track being “a total embarrassment.” The tracks sounded like “bad left-overs from Daughtry’s last album.”

This criticism includes the track I Need To Know which Kris Allen said was his favorite in the album so far.

I’m really worried. I don’t know if Kris and his producer can pull off a stellar album by Nov. 17 with these kinds of advance reactions.

One theory is that since everyone thought that Adam Lambert was going to win, 19E had already commissioned people to write for Adam well before the finale, so Adam has all these songs to choose from. Since Kris Allen’s win came unexpectedly, 19E is now scrambling to get material for him. My feeling is that it may not be enough — and we are going to hear some really terrible songs. Really, this album is turning out to be one of the worst Idol-related albums on record.

I think everyone should send some moral support to Kris Allen on his Twitter now: @KrisAllen4Real.

An Idol album still sells, so I hope some songwriters will come out of the woodwork and write for Kris. It’s still not too late.

Save Kris Allen’s CD! We believe!
