I really want Kevin Skinner to win. I think he is great on this show. His is the kind of story you want to see on shows like this. Chicken “catcher” thrust into the spotlight. He makes you feel that anyone can make it for as long as you put you heart into something that you love.

He sang Always On My Mind and dedicated it to his father.

You are right. I feel he is so authentic in what he is doing. It is like you are getting the real thing. I hope he will be the next COUNTRY SONG SENSATION. I like him. Thanks for sharing.

He does seem like the real McCoy. I’m not a big fan of country music, but I like this guy. I hope he does well.

I don’t think he’s all that great. He sounded terribly off-key in places to me. I thought the Texas Tenors were much better last night.

I like Skinner but he chose a bad song–”You Were Always on My Mind” is very easy to sound flat, and he did last nite

This may sound a bit off, but considering Kevin is a country singer/guitarist, I believe his finals song choice should be something a bit more uplifting than “Always On My Mind”.

Don’t get me wrong, I love both Willie’s and Michael Buble’s renditions and thought Kevin performed it quite well, but in the finals he will need the crowd and judges behind him more than ever.

Two possible song choices:
1) Suspicious Minds (Elvis and Dwight did it, why not Kevin?)
2) Heard It In a Love Song (this choice b/c Marshall Tucker’s vocalist sounds like Kevin – plus it’s a cool tune)
