Ratings: So You Think You Can Dance tops, America’s Got Talent most watched

Ratings confuse me, but here goes:

So You Think You Can Dance had the highest ratings Wednesday night with a 2.9 rating/10 share.

America’s Got Talent was the most watched program with 11.3 million viewers overall.

I thought the highest rated show had the most viewers? In fact, ABC’s “Wipeout” had more viewers that “So You Think You Can Dance” at the 8 PM slot. Hmmmm. Your confused blogger want to know: What’s rating anyway?
