Danny Tidwell — Date Night

It was one of those I can’t believe this is really happening moments really. So You Think You Can Dance Season 3 Runner-up Danny Tidwell came out and had dinner with me tonight.

We had some Spanish tapas and paella somewhere in the West Village. Danny told me he eats 5 times a day and will eat anything and everything.

For his fans, Danny will hopefully be part of the cast of Memphis which is coming to Broadway this Fall. Unfortunately, I also found out from Danny that Neil Haskel who is part of the cast of 9 to 5 on Broadway recently got injured and will need an operation on his shoulder. Bummer. This Summer Danny will be in Fire Island for the Fire Island Dance Festival.

I didn’t know what to expect spending some time with Danny, my favorite dancer. I just remembered that I flew all the way to San Diego one time just to see him dance in the Nutcracker. But I learned a little bit about myself tonight, which I think is what a conversation with a fascinating person will do. I am glad that he didn’t treat me like a fan, but as a friend. Maybe another date?
