Matt was great tonight – looked great, sounded great, and he was brave enough to sing a disco song with some disco spirit. I admit I was concerned when they announced the song selection, but once Matt started singing, everything worked. It was fun and enjoyable – and it honored disco and why shouldn’t disco get a little respect? Disco was fun!

i’m not racists , i just don’t like his additude when he always in the bottom and he got mad at the people for not voting for him. that why i called him stupid , because it not right when you poor your heart and soul into your performance and people forget to vote for you. and you blame them, for putting you in the bottom 3 wrong move.

Margaux09, Adam’s song is on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. It doesn’t get much more disco than that.

As for Matt, I still think he’s one of the more talented musicians this year, but unfortunately his live performances and song selections are SO hit or miss.

I HATED his choice tonight! It’s one of those songs you don’t touch because it’s so bound up with the original artist … unless you’re going to change it up, which Matt didn’t really do. “More Than A Woman” or “How Deep Is Your Love” would have been better, I think.

The MP3 sounds really good overall and will probably be great as a Studio cut on iTunes but jeeze, Matt, stay away from that falsetto. It kills you every time. I would not have picked this particular Bee Gees song for him and I seem to remember it hasn’t done that well for past contestants. Could be on the bubble but there were two others I thought faired worse tonight. Matt might get by.

Matt was awesome! One of the best tonight. How can anyone think he was horrible? You are tone deaf if you think that. If you think he’s pitchy than you must think the same thing about Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake. And how many records have they sold? Exactly. This is current right here, and he’s a musician and he will evolve with time. Not like Adam Lambert, who is a wonderful singer, but do you honestly think he will put out a great album? He’s too theatrical. Danny Gokey is a great singet too but the same thing will happen to him that happened to some amazing singers from past Idol shows: Ruben Studdard, Constantine Maroulis, Bo Bice, and Taylor Hicks. Some one, and some lost but they all got a big hype from the judges and the audience, and you never heard from again. Matt Giraurd and Kris Allen even Allison Iraheta are current and will sell hit records. They have the whole it factor.

Matt is a risk taker and I give him props for that. But he shouldn’t abuse of the falsettos because he misses 50% of them.

The song started off very promising, but from halfway on, it was ruined by those pitchy falsettos.

I loved it. I thought it was very cool, sexy, and funky. It wasn’t supposed to be a vocal master piece…kind of like Adam’s Born to be Wild and Play That Funky Music. It was suppose to be fun like disco is supposed to be. He is one of the only contestants who stayed true to the theme while making the song his own. I can’t for the life of me figure out the comments that it wasn’t original? Are you kidding me Matt’s version was extemely different from the original song. He took an old iconic song and made it new,fresh,and current. How much more original can you get? Oh and I love his falsetto and didn’t hear where he missed it. IMO he was spot on.

I thought Matt did great and I liked them all except for Lil. I so agree with Simon on her, but unfortunately she gets a lot of votes from her fan base and Dial Idol shows her at the top! I know they aren’t always right but I am so afraid now that Kris, Matt or Allison will go instead of her. And yes, Danny is the least of my faves after Lil. Same ‘ole thing every week.

it was a better performance than rounds, kris, anoop, and danny, have you guys seen that everytime danny sings paula dances and since the rant with kara and anoop kara said that was anoops best performance yeah right he just blew it last night, rounds and anoop leave tonight yes anoop has a nice voice but he is so monotone which can only get him so far but hope he stays the ones i see leaving are lil rounds and kris maybe but im staying with anoop and rounds to leave tonight.

Watching this last night, I didn’t really think it was that great… BUT after watching it again I thought it was really kind of groovy haha
Matt definitely deserves to stay over Lil and Anoop. If any of these top 7 put out an album, his and Alison’s are the only ones I would buy.

I am with you. For some reason this season Matt has never gotten enough credit.
Sure some weeks he did not chose the best songs for his vocals, but overall he’s had many GREAT performances. See Human Nature, So Small, Let’s Get It On, Part Time Lover and now this one.
I sure hope he manages to last longer than Top 5.
I think he is way better than Danny.

Hopefully he will nail his song come Jazz week.

Come on don’t think negatively! Matt was saved by the judges last week and was chosen as a wildcard. Even though Simon obviously said he couldn’t win, we have to prove him wrong! He could also be doing this to stir us up and vote like mad for Matt from now on.. so please keep voting and don’t give up hope. Past contestants like Elliot and Jason made it far despite not being ‘popular’. I’d love to see him emerge as the underdog (he already is) and possibly win!!
