I thought it was better the second half, but, I don’t know…. it wasn’t as good as the judges were trying to make out, unless I just can’t hear it. Everyone likes different things. I honestly think her voice sounds strained.

I absolutely adore her. Genuine and doesn’t try to act any older than she is, even though she’s got the soul and sound of someone much, much older. This was great!

I agree that she’s starting to lose her voice. That’s a problem with those rock songs. They rip up your throat. She sounded very hoarse, although, her pitch is excellent! I also agree that she looked really cute tonight. Much softer than other performances. But, I’m a little disappointed. She needs to rest her voice this week.

The judges and producers absolutely agreed to prop her up this week, because, for Simon to call that performance good is bizarre. It actually made me laugh. She was ok, don’t get me wrong, but, her lower register was totally off in the beginning of the song, and she sounds like her voice is starting to give out from all the practicing.

Not off pitch, just low key. That’s two different things! She was definitely on pitch. I wish she sang this in a higher key, though. And yes to the person who suggested her to rest her voice, cause she’s getting hoarser and hoarser. Perhaps they only need not to strain that much during the rehearsals.
But overall, Allison’s got a style of her own, she changes the songs, she takes risks, and is way more promising as an artist than many others left in the competition, IMO.

She was pitchy all over and her voice was really strained. This was not good. The judges are definitely playing her up far more than she deserves. Simon isn’t being as honest as he needs to be.

What in the world is it with this show? They complain about not having enough time to show all the judges making comments (and even when they cut it down to two judges only for each singer, they are still tight on time) and yet, they could cut out a lot of time by not having the contestants walk out on stage at the beginning, talking about the band and then spending way too much time talking about Terrentino (or whatever his name is) and his movies. What a waste of time.

i agree. it wasnt off key, it was just lower. she was definitely on pitch. maybe her voice was just tired but still it was great. specially at the second half. she may (not) deserve the comment for this performance but hey, that was long overdue for all the great performances and the consistency she has been showing since it all started. way to go Allison!

This performance was decent for her, which means it was on par or better then every other contestant besides Adam.

I think Simon must have had some sort of reality check about Allison because she has absolutely slayed every single performance she has done since the top 36(perhaps besides country week, but I hate country) and his praise towards her has been virtually non existent or clouded in antics with Paula.

So even if this particular performance didn’t deserve that much praise, I’m taking his comments towards her as how she stands overall in this competition at this point.

She definitely deserves a shot at the finally. GO ALLISON!!

Allison has an unhealthy hoarseness for a 16-year old, and her tone has just gotten worse during the competition. She needs to learn that aggressively belting everything from your chest isn’t the way to go.

Ridiculous pimpery by the judges. Two seasons ago, did Antonella Barba really do it worse? We remember her don’t we?

I agree with several others. Allison’s had better performances and this was a bit pitchy, but that one power note she had pretty much threw away the issues away. One moment of pure awe is enough to erase two minutes of okay vocals. Here that, Danny? SHE CAN BLOW US AWAY!!!

The audience seemed to like it. They were really loud. Adam and Allison had the biggest crowd reaction. These two will be in the finals. It will be an all out rockfest.

That’s what I like about Allison. She commands your attention with that “WOW” moment. Adam has WOW moments too. An American Idol has to have that WOW factor.

Allison – Good but not great. But IMHO good enough to stay out of the bottom 3. Let’s see who was better:

Adam – Way over the top, but very entertaining.
Kris – Major improvement from last week.
Anoop – One of his finest performances.

Let’s see who was not:

Danny – Endless Love? Come on?
Matt – Pitchy and awful.
Lil – she trampled the Rose. This should be her last appearance (probably not, though).

I just watched the David Cook video from last year — what a difference – he had the maturity to sing this song. I’s really too soon to have someone sing this song again. Allison has potential but this was not the song for her — she’s a 16 year old with a mature-sounding voice but she’s not old enough to deliver the message behind the lyrics.

Her performance tonight was slightly above “average”.

She’s extremely talented and is only going to get better with age….another Christina Aguilera.

I like her and I’m blown away by her self confidence. “16″….I hope she gets into the semi’s if Matt doesn’t get with it.

That was her worst performance of the top 12. Not a good song choice to highlight her type of vocals. This is a cheesy power-ballad, and she does much better with songs that she can highlight her growly-deep voice

Does Allison smoke? Sounded like she was out of breath a few times. She needs to stay away from songs that make her sound old and looks that make her look old and worn out, i.e., get rid of the red hair and stevie nicks/heart ensembles. The stylists for this year really need to be fired.

I must be missing something (no pun intended), but I don’t understand what is great about this performance. It’s absolutely awful. I rewatched it after the judges praised her and I still don’t get it. I thought she was going to pass out or throw up when the song first started.

I hope Allison makes it into the finale! I was so happy Simon finally have her the praise that she deserves. For 16, she’s so orginal and creates her own spin on every song she sings!

It still seems to me, however, that America isn’t connected with her. I’m not sure if it’s her style they don’t enjoy or her sometimes over-the-top confidence. America..seriously, close your eyes and listen to her sing. She can sing anything.
If we are judging contestants souly on vocals, Allison and Adam deserve to be in the finale!

The question is would you guys buy the album of a 16-year old? She’s going to be marketed like a pop Disney type like Archie. I’m a big Archie fan but I wish they wouldn’t put him in the “young” direction. She’s like the comings of a Miley or Demi but wayyy better.

that wasn’t very good. i really like her, but it was all over the place. her vocals were tentative, there was no emotion behind it, she needs to sing from her chest and not her throat. and SOMEONE on the show has GOT to give her some fashion advice. likely her worst performance to date.
