My favorites from the Virginia State Fair (ranked in order) are:
1. I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know (Donny Hathaway)
2. Empty Arms (Stevie Ray Vaughn)
3. You’ve Got A Friend (Carole King)
4. Ready For Love ( Bad company)
Has anyone noticed in the mp3 files from the Yaminions web site…a young lady (who’s picked up near the person recording) and who can’t contain her bursts of emotion while Elliott is singing?
Elliott sings… “I want to be a part of you that no one else can see…I want to hear you say…gotta hear you say… it’s all right”…
she moans in rapture **ahhhh…whew***
Then Elliott sings, “Im flesh & blood…but I can be anything you need”
then she moans again sensually ***uhhh gawd!***
If I was here date that night…I would have sent Elliott a nice thank you card for bringing my evening to a pleasant end…I think she was definitely all “warmed up” (if you know what I mean)
How his voice has lasted this long and is getting better with every listen baffles me.
My throat kills me after an hour of singing on the car rides to and from work.
Excellent Excellent Excellent.
Q, there are a lot of audio files on that site and I don’t recognize the lyrics you put in enough to know which song that is. Do you remember the title?

So sorry….I should have identified those lyrics from the song “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know”.
Her 1st utterance is at 4:18 into the song…and her 2nd moan is at 4:26 into the song.
Perhaps its just a guy thing…but her moans…er uh…kinda do it for me! That would make me break my back to hear more! Ooh yeah.

No need to apologize Q. I should have cued in to the fact that it’s #1 on your list of favorites. Har har!
There’s also an “Ohh” around 1:30, right as he begins singing, and a gruntled sigh around 6:14. I’m guessing that it is also her that we hear yakking pretty much the entire time so that should turn you off!
It probably is a guy thing that a woman’s moans turn you on cuz they just made me laugh. Nonetheless they were entertaining. I wonder if she’s heard the file and has said “Oh my God. That’s me.”

My two cents Elliott,Meditate about this Elliott:
Torpidness, disregard in oneself and others = No respect, No fans
No elegance/mannerism’s improvement on stage = No next level
Frustrated-wounded fans = No career
Livin’la vida loca = Very short life (in your case, it’s quite true)
I don’t mean disrespect or attack you, please take my words seriously.
NOT rely in your voice and innocent look solely!!!
Seek advice from *skilled* people in the fields of psichology and
media-business, you must, you really need do that.
Are you understanding me? i don’t wanna lost/hate you!!
WE LOVE!!! darn! WAKE UP Elliott!, FIGHT!!!

I hate to break it to the previous poster, but there are a LOT of worried fans out there. I used to be a big one, but I could only get through the first half of this particular YouTube video before I had to turn it off. It wasn’t the first time. I look at Elliott now and I want to like him as much as I did before, but his caged-cat pacing on the stage and his apparent disregard for his appearance is a real turn-off. The voice seems to have suffered, too. Without Idol, he’s like a helium balloon with all the air sucked out of it. Is this why he still doesn’t have a recording contract? Or does he?

Elliott’s solo concert proved that he has evolved into a magnificent singer and a “HOT-HOT-HOT” performer. No need for any “fan” to be worried.

To #19: What did I like about Elliott before? I liked his sincerity, his passion, and his voice, although I thought it could benefit from some training. He looked like a diamond in the rough to me, but now he just looks rough. I suppose I was suckered in by his underdog status. We’re all guilty of it at one time or another. We root for ordinary people like ourselves, wanting them to achieve things we wish we could achieve ourselves. These people become little mirrors into our souls, but just wishing isn’t enough sometimes.
I ended up being really happy for Taylor, even though I, at one time, thought he was kind of a joke. In the end, I came to see a guy who had paid his dues, who every time he went on stage exhibited the kind of professionalism that we have come to expect of our “stars.” I see that by respecting himself, he also shows respect for us. I like that he dresses up a bit. Maybe he’d rather kick back in sloppy clothes and not shave, as Elliott does, but he gives us his best. That’s just how I feel. Many others, apparently, do too.
Even on this forum, Elliott hardly generates any interest anymore. It’s kind of sad. I keep checking in, but I keep getting disappointed. I’m just not that interested in Elliott anymore. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it. I have eyes, I have ears. I’m not looking to “love” him no matter what. For me, he doesn’t deliver. That’s just the way it is.

In Richmond they are calling Elliott a “hero” because of his charitable work. I think this is more a measure of a man than his outward appearance. I fell in love with the man’s voice which I believe is only getting better as he is able to share with us the music that he loves. I am thrilled to be on this lifes journey with Elliott, and will be with him for the long haul.

soup – Somehow none of your points ring true to me. It seems like you have conviction in your opinions, but you may be missing something very fundamental considering your opinions were formed from watching one amateur video. No offense – really. Just be less quick to judge. Elliott is still the wonderful performer that we all grew to love and time will prove his star power.

My opinions weren’t “formed from watching one amateur video.” I have watched every video this site has ever posted. His fans can talk about “the measure of a man” and all that, and I won’t disagree with them. I’m sure Elliott is a fine person, and I admire the charity work he is doing, but, as a performer, he just doesn’t do it for me. If he does it for you, then I’m happy for you. In any case, I wish him well.

Elliott was soooo adorable during AI5, I cried, i laughed and loved this lil’ cutie. Still love him
intensely and his voice mesmerize me.
My frustration come from his new behavior on stage:
so harsh, rude, torpid, unelegant, stooping, bending,
sweeping his sweat with his shirt…
FOR GOD’s SAKE Elliott!! DON’T DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seems he forgot the lovely manners displayed by him on AI5… I´m so sad…
I LOVE YOU ELLIOTT more than you’ll ever know…
my soulful-sweet boy.
Oh my god…
I WANT MY ADORABLE-EDUCATED BOY BACK!!!

I wasn’t at the State Fair concert, but this reporter was and shares her perspective. Great interview of Elliott …
“E: I’ve definitely grown a lot, and I’ve come a long way since the beginning of the show”
Elliott you’re not grown a lot my boy… your stage
presence have suffered a LOT… grasping that tube
like your life depend on that. bad advices? bad companies? look at your performance in Richmond…
yeah i know,
you don’t like see yourself performing, i realize that
long time ago when still AI5… but you’ll benefit from
this.

Well, I see I’m not the only one who is “worried” about Elliott. Take a look at the latest poll. He isn’t even mentioned among the all-time favorite finalists, even though the two (Daughtry and Pickler) who he surpassed were listed. I can only assume that it’s because they got record contracts and Elliott did not. And before anyone jumps down my throat for pointing this out, I didn’t make the poll. Look, I love Elliott’s voice, too, but the boy needs help. Please don’t criticize those of us who would like to see a little more polish. For better or worse, we live in a society that demands it of our celebrities. Your undying devotion isn’t going to make him a star. The record producers see the same things that we see, both good and bad, and, I hate to say it, but grooming and stage presence has always been part of the package. I think we could help Elliott more by encouraging him to clean up his act (literally). It gives me no pleasure to say it, but that’s the way it is.
Very rarely have I seen an artist who possesses the ability to cross racial barriers, cultural barriers, age barriers, religious barriers—all barriers—with his music. That artist is Elliott Yamin. Remember his name; you will be hearing it again.

Well, I was at the concert and Elliott was nothing less than gracious, polite and wonderful. He was as polished as any performer I’ve seen in concert who is under 50 and his voice was nothing less than in perfect form. He was HOTTER than ever before and I still have screams from female fans (including my own) ringing in my ears.
Now I realize some would like to give E a little more spit and polish in the typical boring “what not to wear” and “queer eye” fashions but I think he simply exudes pure masculine sexiness in voice and style of performance. I don’t want him to become a little stuffed shirt and thank goodness he is out of the clutches of Clive and AI for good!
