Okay… I’m not a huge Adam fan… But I did give him props for last week cuz he was fantastic.. and it’s true that his range is just amazing.

HOWEVER…. this is probably one of the most disturbing performancees I’ve ever seen. Sorry, I just felt like it was disgusting… He totally grossed me out. WAAAAY over the top and just YUCK!!!

Don’t hate me for my opinion, I just thought it was sickening.

Thank god SOMEONE on this show can do a song with movement!!! When you go to the concerts, you don’t want to spend 2 hours watching someone sit at a piano singing slow ballads all the time. Kris was awesome tonight, but Adam shows that he can do a ballad OR and uptempo, “funky” song and have FUN!! They both owned the night in my opinion!

Now that’s a star. Great vocal. GREAT vocal. Undeniable. Tonight was about Kris and Adam. One, honest and straightforward, and the other, glamrock, over the top and fantastic. And both were great in their own way.

Loved his hair (again), loved the clean nails (again), and loved the voice (again), and he is a great entertainer (and how the world needs that these days) – but I think Taylor Hicks was more believable singing and performing this song, and try as Adam might, even with his superb voice, this rendition did not sound original or contemporary to me. Is he play-acting or is he an original artist? I still don’t know.

I’m with the judges on THIS 1.

When I heard WILD CHERRY – I went ‘uh oh’ – got to be karaoke to the max!

But, I should have known better cuz that’s not how Adam rolls, lmao!

His arrangement alone would distinguish his version & did. Another great job & the BEST of the night in an evening of particularly low achievements. Even when all competitors perform at maximum levels, Mr. Lambert still excels.

Loved the shoutout Adam gave the band.
Also, the hair. Good move. He bears a likeness to Elvis & it works on so many levels.

Personally, I am in strong like with the emo hair, but he can’t do that EVERY week.

Actually, I think it is in the contract that the contestants CAN have an orgasm on stage, as long as they keep their junk under cover. Other forms of human emission are not allowed however. Female breasts and thighs can be shown at any time, with close up after close up after close up. Same cannot be said of the males, who must always be covered, asexual and nonthreatening. After all, this is a clean family show and all about the singing.

Once again, Adam delivered. When I first heard he was doing that song, I was like “WTF?” but I was, as always, amazed. I didn’t think he could pull it off, but he did.
About the “dancing”: Oh please, people, we see Miley Cyrus gyrate on the stage and don’t care, so why care now?

Ok everyone knows I am a huge Adam Fan, but although I thought Adam rocked it and was one of the best of the group tonight, it was my least favorite so far. I still think we haven’t seen the best yet from Adam. There’s still much more to come. Adam is playing this game very smart, we must remember. There’s still like 7 weeks left so Adam still has much more time to up his game. I still think it was a great performance but I loved the past 3 more.

Speaking of duets, I would love to see Adam and Fantasia together. I think the two of them could come up with something really exciting beyond words.

As far as whether his image will hurt him, I would like to give people more credit than that, though perhaps that is in vain. I don’t know. All I know is that, for me, pure talent supercedes anything else. In fact, give me a voice via which I can experience the sublime and I will overlook just about anything. One of my favorite artists is Antony of Antony and the Johnsons, and if you knew me, you would never ever link me to that group or expect to find that music on my iPod. If I showed up at a concert (which I would love to do someday), the ushers would think I had arrived at the wrong place. But I listen to Antony just about every day, addicted to his ethereal artistry despite his extremely avant-garde, totally-my-opposite image. Pure talent will cover many things, and if Adam will just reveal to us who he really is, rather than who he is great at pretending to be, then whatever his image may or may not be, people won’t be able to get enough of his music.

But while I think all the glam-rock is awesome multiplied by a hundred, I think Adam should tone it down a bit more often, cause he definitely has the talent to win this thing, and all he needs now is the votes from the conventional, ordinary Amerians in Texas.

Omg, I can’t believe he picked that song… So unexpected and hilarious. I just flove him. Never a dull moment with this boy — funky white boy indeedio. Haha!

The camera work was weird though. Is there some censoring going on here, à la ‘only show him from the waist up’ Elvis? Too hot for TV, huh? I mean, there were some seriously cool moves there, but the camera would only show him from really far away, or in closeups. When someone is dancing like that, why wouldn’t they show it? No big secret, I’m not a huge Adam fan, but I thought his performance last week was amazing. This week, it was back to the histrionics, which granted, is what his fans love and what his distractors can’t stand. As Simon says (haha), this performance wasn’t about winning over new voters. He already proved he could sing, so I guess he has the liberty to do whatever the hell he wants on stage. Good on him.

About the controversial image — if he’s got haters, I don’t necessarily think it’s a homophobic, conservative thing. I think it’s a matter of musical tastes than anything.

Rickey has a point. This season is gonna be like Season 4. While Bo and Constantine were my favorites, I knew Carrie was gonna win. Adam is hands down my favorite contestant this season. This was awesome, reminiscent of his Semi-Final perf. but better.

That is a pretty strong comment to make. No one knows what he thinks about gays. Even if he believes that homosexuality is wrong, there is a BIG difference between that and HATING someone. And, for the record, we don’t even know whether he actually believes that homosexuality is wrong. He’s never said anything about it.

Adam seems to get along with him very well, and based on Adam’s recent iTunes confessional, which was primarily ABOUT KRIS and how much they get along, I doubt there are any problems there.

With vitually ANY popular song available, he could have had another ” moment ” tonight like he did with Tracks of My Tears and like Kris Allen chose to do tonight .

Sure , he made the song ” his own” , but NOT the best song choice at all – it was fun, he showed his swagger and range and originality , of course, but you can only do so much with a song like that ! It is a song for dancing , not showing vocal prowess and Adam knew that .

That was great. The end note he hit is the same one he hit at the end of “Satisfaction.” I think he’s very familiar with going that high. I just hope he doesn’t do it in every up-tempo performance. Very nice, Adam.

Just for everyones information this was not actually his first song choice. Adam was originally scheduled to sing the song crazy but due to complications over the weekend, the song was revoked and he ended up singing this. He actually picked it on Monday which is why he gave credit to the band for choosing the arrangement in such a short period. Just thought everyone should know.

For those of us that are lucky enough to go on cruises, to night spots and tourist attractions–we see and hear pretty much the same type of performers as what we saw last night. BUT–Adam–he is not the run of the mill. This kid stands out. He sticks in the brain!

I love his quick crescendos–some of you have called screech. Loved it when James Brown did that–Adam is even better at it. It’s signature to him.

If I am going to plop down these outrageous amounts of money for concert tickets–I expect an Adam. Not a stand at the microphone glued to the floor performance. I want somebody that can really sing–do a lil’ dirty down dancin’ — own the stage — and is good on the eyes. Year before last Idol was a young adult version of The Musketeers Club. Adam is updating the show. I don’t agree with Rickey–I think he has a good chance of winning–not in spite of his controversies–but because of them–but I am not complacent about voting.

I think Adam went in the opposite direction from last week to keep us on our toes. It keeps him from being put in a box (like Lil and Matt) and keeps his fresh. What I love most about him is that I never know what he’s going to do week to week, and he may not always pick the best song he could, but he will always deliver. There’s never a moment of thinking “will he be able to sing those notes?” because he can sing anything. Most of the other contestants, there’s always that chance of it being a train wreck because of their voice, not their style.

Man I really hate his screaming! Unless your Aretha Franklin, you are not allowed to scream that much in a song. Once or twice (although that’s pushing it) is enough. More than that then you’re a diva. And although Adam may be a diva at heart, he looks and sounds like a rocker. And rockers, the ones that aren’t annoying anyway, just cannot scream that much. If you’re going to scream more than once, do it in an octave lower please. It just hurts the ears.

I really hate his style and find it really really irritating. Another thing that’s so irritating is that, on the internet, he’s totally the most popular, shoving my favorite, Kris, in the dark. But, WHEEE, Kris owned Itunes Week!!! HAhAHA Kris > Adam Lambert!!!

Agree with Glenda. Finding someone like Adam is rare. You just don’t run across someone like him very often.

PTFM was wild and I have no idea what made him pick it. It was a real WTF moment and I was laughing all the way through it because no one could have made that work except Adam. He’s the perfect combination of talent and insanity. He looked hot too. I’m missing the emo hair and nail polish but I think they’ll make a comeback at some point.

I really think this year’s group is the best in quite awhile. Seems like they all have really forged friendships. The results show tonight was so enjoyable due to that. A really cute group! But, I am rather glad it was Megan that was sent home. Why is Allison in the bottom 3 two times now?

Anod–I commend you for your loyalty to Kris. Really, I do. At this point in Idol–it’s fairly clear that there are a few — no matter the results of the final vote — that are going to make it in singing careers. There have been a couple of years out of Idol’s run that none did well. But this year–I really think there are Adam, Danny, and Kris that will sell their work for real money. I think these 3 kids will do just fine. It’s obvious surfing blogs, such as this, these 3 have some real serious fans.

I personally am a HUGE Lambert fan. I am one of those serious enough to plop my money down for his work. I love the James Brown and Steve Tyler type singers. Love those quick cresendos. I respect some do not. But, I do. I think the kid is a hellva sexy handsome creature–helluva stage entertainer–helluva vocal artist with a huge tenor range. Love his sound. With baited breath I await each week’s Adam performance. Nobody at this point will persuade me one other is better–nor I should try to persuade you.

We should just sit back and enjoy the fine talent this years’ competition has. It’s a good year for wine–and a good year for Idol. I like white wine–you may prefer red — both from a good year. I think that is how this year’s Idol is resulting.

this is the first time i have ever posted here but let me first say i luv this site rickey. its the first place i go on tuesday nights after AI and i look at the comments daily. i just have to get my adam fix and you help provide that. now as for adam lambert, he is the most talented person on AI this season. he has the whole package of great vocals, good looks and awesome stage presence. he makes the show exciting each week. Satisfaction was great, Black or White was brilliant, he got a standing ovation in my living room for Tracks of my Tears, and PTFM was pure fun, i couldn’t wipe the smile from my face. i luv his falsetto and his ability to mix it up, always bringing us a surprise is true genious. i hope you read these adam, you have crossed all age groups and demographics and have given america someone to cheer for and be happy about. you will go far no matter what and yes i will buy your cd’s and go where ever you are in concert. keep being true to yourself and thanks for taking us along for the ride!!!!!

Well, I DVR’ed the O’Rielly show. (I won’t give up my Dancing with the Stars.) I did watch the piece on Adam. Sigh–not sure how it will matter. O’Rielly showed the 2 “gay-guy” photos that have been online. So–if somebody had not seen them before–LOL–they sure saw them now.
