I so wanted her to be great because I love the song, but although there were great moments, she didn’t quite deliver overall. Still, I have to agree that she was better than Gokey. I hated the outfit too! It made her look too fat.

There was so much awkward in that one performance. Why carry a guitar if you’re not going to play it the whole way? Plus, its rhythm was off – she obviously can’t sing and play at the same time. And then when she switched to just singing, there was a moment of awkwardness where she looked like she didn’t know what she was doing.

Then there’s the issue of her hair. Did she walk through an electric fence before performing?

The cameras have it in for her too. They kept shooting her double chin during the performance. Not good!

True. Her costume WAS distracting.

But, I wasn’t distracted from her vocals & overall, the singing was good. No less than what Danny produced, yet, he receives praise & Allison receives, well, ya know, mostly nitpicking over her UNusual get-up.

I hate the fricken judges. They’ve already decided who they want in the finale. It’s pathetic. Allison and Adam are BY FAR the most talented this season and all they talk about is Allison’s outfit after she performs. If she’s voted out because the idiot judges shot down her look, I’m done with this show.

I thought this was a great performance. Not her absolute best, but still a good performance. And I LOVED her outfit! The moment she came out on the stage at the start of the show, I was like “ooooh! I love the dress!” And then the judges all rip her a new one because of it. I thought it rocked. As did she.

My opinion on MY girl. Yes she is my favorite. Not my favorite performance by her but I really think her studio version will kick butt. Anyway I was disapointed that she didn’t play guitar as much and she only played for the begining but w/e it made her look cool. At points I did have trouble understanding her voice because they seemed slurred or the raspiness of her voice did that (I love the raspy voice). It was not her best and it wasn’t her worst. I thought the hair was cool outfit not so much but I didn’t care. I hated that the judges only commented on that b/c the vocals were good. Also was Simon not paying attention to her? She didn’t shout the vocals and if anyone did it was Danny. Thank you and good bye. BTW listening to her now

Third best vocal of the night. Will probably be the second best studio to Kris. This girl doesn’t need this show. She needs 4-5 good young rockers with song writing skills and they can tear it up.

Fortunately, two solid weeks of Megan getting across the board thumbs down may actually work to get her gone.

I loved it… I am angered that the judges had to resort to petty comments about the way she dressed.. especially Simon, who also accused her of yelling the song at the last second.. its like he was trying to find whatever he could to take her down. Probably because he didnt want her riding on her reputation from the last week… Not cool.

She’s in trouble people.. She’s in the bottom 2 according to DialIdol, so vote!!!! Save her!!!!!!!!

And I also liked her hair!! and her dress.. Creative. I liked it! I don’t understand why the judges had that big of a problem with it.. They probably couldnt find any other flaw with her so they decided to attack her with that.

It’s funny cause the idol make up and costume guys probably had more of a say in how she’d look than she did.

I did not even notice her dress, but I did love her soft take on this song and only wish she had continued with the softness throughout the rest of it. I was disappointed when she broke out with the big loud voice. She really had something original and artistic going there. I think she is great and definitely one of the best this year.

I really liked what she was wearing! The dress was cool. It’s a stage outfit for crying out loud. The hair, not so much, but come on judges, wth? Besides, Gwen Stefani has been known to wear a funky outfit or two. Sheesh.

The performance did fall a little short of my expectations (which are high), but it was pretty good. AND she gets points for not being boring. The guitar, the outfit, the good singing — that puts her well ahead of many of the other performances tonight.

screw the judges (except paula on this one). i thought the arrangement was kind of weak and for a no doubt song, i mean gwen is not a great vocalist so the song wasn’t going to give her a lot of room. but she was fine.

I listened to the mp3 version first and I didn’t really like it at first. Maybe because I really liked Gwen Stefani’s version. Then I saw the video, and I actually liked it much better. I didn’t hate the outfit. A bit weird but I think she looked nice and was able to carry it off. I also liked how she performs. Can really see the emotions. I just don’t like how she sings songs like she’s… heaving (for lack of a better term). It’s like the sound that one makes when you poo so it really kind of turns me off. It does sound nice sometimes though.

But she has a great voice. I especially like it in the chorus. She sings these really difficult songs with such ease… its like singing the alphabet to her!

I don’t get some of the hype though… She’s one of the most popular contestants on the net (although it doesn’t seem to translate to votes). I love Kris so much more. Speaking of contestants more popular than my fave Kris, I really don’t like Adam’s screams. Kind of like a copycat from 80s or 90s rock. I love 80s – 90s rock too much to go to a copycat. Bon Jovi, Aerosmith > Adam Lambert.

The beginning of this song was AMAZING… she has an incredible voice! The rocking part was a little forced, but she does have an incredible voice, both soft and subdued and also rocker-ish.

Keep in mind that I am sooooo in the tank for Allison. After watching the video over a couple times I have a few observations:

> I thought she showed tremendous guts and risk taking coming out playing guitar and dressing like Pebbles Flintstone. The judges always slight the contestants for “not looking young” or “doing a safe song” or “not taking risks”. She definitely went out of her comfort zone. Notice that the judges were so much nicer to Danny earlier on when Danny wore that ridiculous “Arctic Expedition” outfit. There is a discernible respect that Danny gets from the judges that the others do not.

>That being said, she had some difficulty at points singing and playing guitar. Singing and playing requires alot of practice and live performance to become unconsciously competent. She is definitely not as comfortable with her instrument as Scott, Kris or Matt.

>My prediction is that she is once again in the bottom 3, but will live to see the top 8. I think she needs to come to the realization that the gloves are off, that she is not the judges’ darling (Danny and Scott are), that perfection is the only thing that will keep the judges off of her case, and that she needs serious help on the marketing side to win the competition.

Love her week after week. What a shame that we didn’t see her at all before the top 36 (same with Kris). The beginning of the song made me actually like this over-played song again. I wish she would have sang it all accoustic. But she has a wonderful, unique sound. I agree – get over the dress thing – Lord knows Kelly can’t dress her body but she’s still amazing.

It’s getting really, really annoying with the judges, and the conspiracy theorist in me is beginning to come out.

Last week she bangs out the best performance of the night, and Simon is busy coloring. This week, she sings a contemporary song without sucking (that award goes to Mr. Giraud), and the judges spend 8 minutes analyzing her shoes. Uhm… aren’t they the ones who keep reminding us that this is a singing competition? FWIW, I thought the first part of the song with the guitar was just sublime.

For whatever reason, the judges are completely underplaying her talent in hopes that the audience is too stupid to notice it from themselves, and will continue to drink the kool-aid from audition week and push their faves into the finals. To be sure, Danny and Adam are talented, but I really think they’re beating a dead horse in trying to force Lil into the Top 3. IMO, Allison is much more deserving of being Idol’s top femme this year. And she does it without the pimpage.

she really did look absolutely ridiculous. everyone seems to be in an uproar about the fact that she was called out on it, but if mariah carey stormed the stage dressed like a clown, people would be distracted, let’s be honest. having said that i really want to like allison, i love the raspy quality of her voice…but she’s never really wow-ed me. and i’m losing interest. she has a lot of potential, but she’s just not really rising to it.
