I may be the only one (besides the guys over at VFTW), but I actually liked that performance.

Maybe it was the arrangement, more so than her singing, but I actually liked it. I don’t know, maybe it’s ‘cuz I’m into Jack Johnson and those mellow artists…

Absolutely hated it. She is all over the place and her song is not up to par for this stage of the competition. Honestly I don’t think it has been for a while. I don’t know how she keeps pulling it off to still be in it. I will say that luckily it appears Anoop will have a chance to go for another round. Even her outfit was a turnoff

I don’t think Megan has the best voice, but I did actually like this performance though. People just have geunine hate for her. Adam and Megan are my favorites cuz they are original and geunine.

I actually really liked it.. but despite being a big Megan fan, she hasn’t really been a “wow” in the Top 13 and I think her time may just be up. Who knows, if she could survive last week, maybe she can this week?

I didn’t think it was as bad as the judges persuaded everyone else to think it was. I thought it was very classy and was reminiscent of Billy Holiday in parts. She will probably be in the bottom along with Matt and Anoop

Was it a great performance? No. However, I think the judges are going a bit over the top with her; kinda appeasing the Internet mob, I suppose. Megan’s voice is 100% an acquired taste.

Here’s my problem with the judges – there are basically two reasons why Megan is here: 1. Her looks (there is no denying that – though I also actually do like the voice as well, I am not going to pretend that her looks haven’t gotten her to this point); 2. Her unique, quirky voice that is very different – some call her Amy Winehouse, some see a little Alanis in her, etc. By asking her to sing a ballad while sitting down or whatever is just completely going against why they put her in the Top 36 (and 13) in the first place. I realize it was just Paula’s comment (and those aren’t to be taken seriously), but it goes 100% against what Megan is.

I think she should just continue down her path as well – sink or swim with what got her here in the first place. As one of her fans, I never expected her to win anyway – and I doubt at this point she really expects to either.

Every time I hear Megan’s voice, I wrack my brain trying to figure out who she reminds me of. Finally, tonight, it came to me: she is a younger, prettier Carol Channing (google her.) Now Carol Channing is great – awesome on Broadway, awesome in “Hello Dolly” – but not made for radio. Megan sounds an awful lot like Ms. Channing, with a hint of Ethel Merman, and that is a compliment – I love old Broadway – but what it means is she is not meant for American Idol. She needs a venue where her unique voice can be forgiven its uniqueness – maybe her own cabaret or even in a Broadway revival of “Hello Dolly” – maybe “Hello Dolly” reenvisioned with a modern sensibility (no Victorian ruffles or umbrellas.) Megan has some star quality – and she is beginning to reveal her own very high opinion of herself (she’ll need that confidence to fend off the naysayers.) I would go see her in a musical production, but I just can’t see myself buying her CD. Best of luck Megan.

If you listen to the audio without watching the performance, it’s actually quite good. She just REALLY needs to work on her body movements. She feels awkward and we viewers in turn feel AWKWARD

i’m so over the judges focusing on “packaging” the idols as “artists”. stop telling them who they are and what to sing. i thought it was a good song choice for her. they’re just bits cause they wanted her to be “neo-soul” and she’s not doing it. i bet if she did sing some winehouse/duffy/adele that they would call her a copycat. it’s so obvious who they like and i think this strategy of bs comments is going to backfire.

That was AWFUL. Her singing actually hurt my ears. Only one other person has done that and that’s Von.
Her vocals are just NOT there, and this performance was all shades of boring boring BORING.
And what an absolutely STANK attitude. As someone else said, it’s like she’s feeding in to the publicity and making her snotty.

As for charles calling her a “circus freak” b/c she has a tattoo sleeve….. way to have an open mind there.
Not liking tattoos is one thing, but calling someone a freak over it just shows your maturity level.

Megan should have sang Pocketful of Sunshine. Her voice has a little bit of Natasha Bedingfield sound. Upsetting she chose this song. I thought her pronounciation of “down” was cute before, but this time a little put off. But I still want her to mother my children

I really hated that Megan got in the topo 13. But I have to admit that she has a nice voice. I just hated that Ricky Braddy didn’t get in and she did because of her looks and “packaging”.

Her performance are always unique though and I don’t really get why some people so hate her. She has a nice voice. Nowhere near a powerhouse. But nice. She doesn’t deserve such bad comments.

She does need to go because she’s just not good enough. Her mediocrity shines through her uniqueness and mediocrity is the worst thing to have in American Idol.

The problem with her is that she changes the songs and makes it more… mellow. It fits her style and voice but it removes the wow factor.

I have no doubt though that she will do well in other areas. Her uniqueness will probably sell a lot of CDs especially for original songs.

Another thing that I dont like Megan is the way she says “down” like “dawun”. Its really distracting. And after watching the video, her voice tends to go all warbly. I dont know if that’s intended but I have mixed feelings about it now. It sometimes seems cool but sometimes it seems weird.

Megan is alot like Hillary Clinton in only one respect(certainly not in looks): You are either totally in love with her or you want to regurgitate every time she opens her mouth. You love her or hate her – there is no in between.

I agree with the Carol Channing comparison. She would have been better off last night had she sung “Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend” instead. This performance set off the dogs in my neighborhood in a cascading chorus of the “twilight howl.”

It’s a total sham that she’s still around, but my prediction is that Megan makes it to the Top 8 because of her ardent, organized fan base. One of the guys, possibly Matt, is going to be put to the curb.

It always seems like Megan’s riding in a car going over a bumpy road when she sings. Like she has no control over her voice to stop making it shake. I realy don’t like the way she sings. I think Patsy Cline is still rolling in her grave from Megan’s version of Walking After Midnight. And to think they blamed it on ‘flu’. Ok well what’s the excuse for every other night she’s butchering songs???? I never really did jump on Megan’s bandwagon. She does have a unique voice, but I honestly don’t see what she’s still doing on the show! I’m still miffed because they ousted Alexis before her. Alexis sang circles around this loony yahoo. She just strikes me as really weird and out there. Like not from this planet out there.
