I was so thrilled when I read about this!!! I have become a big fan of Leona’s since catching her in her clips on YouTube!!! Hopefully she will go over real well with the American audience and Idol gives her a big push here in the States!

There’s something about her I “do” like, and she sounds terrific in “some” parts of her songs, but honestly I don’t “get” it as she is actually kinda pitchy and sometimes even bad.

I agree, richie. Shayne Ward was better than Leona. I don’t think Leona is really all that great of a singer or performer. She is just another one of those diva wannabes. And I just can’t believe she’s already being compared to Mariah, Whitney, Celine, etc. No way is she anywhere near there yet. So unless this “exposer” from AI will help Leona get noticed in America, I doubt she’ll be very successful here. I wish her the best, but yeah…we already have plenty of diva wannabes over here. I doubt we need another.

During the permiere? How? It’s all audition stuff – the performances won’t start for several weeks. Maybe later in the season is what Leona and Simon are planning. This is from the same article:

“The singer is HOPING to put an appearance in on the show when it kicks off in the US next week with a special two-part premiere.”

This is info about the premiere, but I don’t see that it says she is scheduled to perform.

Hey Rickey! she’s just got back from L.A after performing at a VIP showcase Where Clive Davis invited a select group of America’s top song writers, critics, executives and journalists. Aparetly she blew everyone away. She sang “Summertime” “Sorry Seems To Be” and “Over the rainbow” There are a few stories coming out about it on US news sites like E for example.

Those writers have now gone home to start writing songs for Leona’s debut album which will be released internationally.

Clive has only ever hosted a top VIP Showcase like this for one other of his acts, a long time ago when she first started out… Ms Whitney Houston!

Leona will be a global megastar withing the following year I assure you. People get a pen and paper and mark my words down lol!

What happened? I checked out the link and found her on youtube. I had never heard of her. What premiere and where was or is she? Did I miss it? All I’ve read is that Simon encouraged people not to buy the album she released against terms of her win on XFaxtor and released one on her own? I have no idea someone fill me in please?
