boy he is a natural singer.. he delivered that song really great…shows he can do ballads and uptempo songs, something rare these days.

I’m surprised Simon didn’t say “it was all a bit manic, if I’m being honest.” because it was. But, dammit, I wish I didn’t like his voice, ‘cuz I really can’t stand this guy.

Finally…someone who dances worse than Clay Aiken. He sounded a bit shouty to me, but a very strong performance otherwise.

the negatives outwieghed the positives for me.

too much growling/shouting, too little singing. the start was a wutdaheck moment. horrible dancing.

i liked how he engaged the crowd. always a plus and a sign of a solid performer.

Although I believe that Danny has a good singing voice & this appeared to be a good song choice, the delivery of this tune was forced & harsh.

I don’t know, but next to Adam’s smash performance last week, Danny seems amateurish tonight.

Perhaps Danny was feeling the pressure, hmmm, & tried stepping UP his game?

It was definitely a different vibe for Danny. I’m happy see he can be versatile. Not sure why everyone is hating on this performance. I thought it was engaging and vocally on point.. growl and all.

I like that he gets so into the music. He performs well and you can tell he loves it. I thought he did well and, for once, was glad to NOT hear about his wife’s death.

He keeps changing his glasses. Anybody know if they are just for looks?

I hate the glasses. The opening was a trainwreck but he improved. I wasn’t blown away but I don’t see him going anywhere.

I didn’t like that at all. I really like his voice, but it felt like he was shouting for most of the song and the dancing was really distracting. I can understand getting in to it, which is fun, but calm that crap down b/c it doesn’t look good on tv unless you actually know how to dance.

Very average — didn’t do anything for me. He definitely hurt himself with this performance and did not assert himself as a front-runner.

He’s good. Easily a top four performer, but he could get eliminated earlier than that with one bad performance.

To me, he has a very arrogant body language. I don’t think he really is (or tries to be), but he does comes across that way.

The kid is amazing. It was good to see him try a different style, some people do the same things ever week and I think it was necessary for him to show is abilities as Randy pointed out. He is going to the top for sure. I think the judges and the fans needed to see he could do something different.

AI is over as the judges officially crown Adam is the winner of season 9 tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s so not fair as it makes the rest of the contestant look and feel bad!!!!!!!!!! It’s like David Archuleta and David Cook all over again. They want to produce two idols from one season. Adam will be the runner up and someone else will be the winner!

I think Danny sounded great tonight! From someone who knows him, I’m so surprised with the dance moves… LOL! He is a waaaaay better dancer than that, but he was probably just nervous! BTW, yes, he does wear glasses because he needs them, not just for looks.

i thought he was shouty and the transition from the beginning part to the body of song was bizarre. plus this was my song for anoop!

i do think he has a nice voice and he was more likeable to me tonight. but it was not a great vocal.

I’ve been trying to tell myself not to like this guy. After all the over-exposure and pimping, I wasn’t cool with this guys at all. But damnit! The man can sing!! It wasn’t his best performance, but I just love his tone and his soul. And I have to agree with Randy… the dancing totally did it for me.

Danny , my early favorite, was really good tonight . He totally engaged the audience and I love that rasy quality to his voice .
I’m glad they did not talk about Sophia tonight – let him get his ratings just on his voice because he really IS good . He , Adam and Matt are the top 3 , IMO.

This guy is all kinds of awesome. He’s got a beautiful voice and stage presence. I feel like if I went to one of his concerts I’d go home exhausted because I’d be up dancing and singing and my face would hurt from smiling so much. He is a real entertainer. Love! Him! (Even the dancing!)

I thought Danny was great! I was a little thrown off by the beginning, but I didnt think it was bad, I’m just not used to the song being slow like that. And I thought his dancing was hilarious! Not in a bad way, but like a little kid excited over seeing their favorite candy, ya know? I thought it was cute! You could tell he was very excited to be there – and why the heck not??? Everyone talks about how he was getting too depressing, why not be happy he’s having fun????

I think this guy is great and I really hope he makes it to the finals! I know for sure my whole household is voting for him! And what’s with the people commenting about his glasses? The dude doesnt have to wear contacts, he CAN wear glasses people! And I like that he has different pairs! Good Luck Danny!!!!!! We’re pulling for you!!!

I liked the beginning, maybe a little off at the change of tempo, but I thought it was a good lead in, kind of cool at the start and then more hot and dynamic for the rest, I don’t get how people think Danny screams, but Adam lambert doesn’t, he does the same harsh scream with the tongue going back and forth every song, with that said I like them both, I just find it funny how so many people can’t be objective in any way shape or form when they like someone. I know Danny has faults, they all do, but you choose to like them anyway. Look at Anoop, love him also, just can’t seem to pick the perfect song yet..

Wow! Overrated? please. It was fantastic. The best part about it was the energy. He took a song that i never would of liked and made it something special. It was great from start to finish. Those of you who say the beginning was bad, i do not think you know what you are talking about. Not every song can or should start high. Like everything else and good song need a great foundation. I am starting to think that half the people who comment on this website are Adam lovers, who really happens to be overrated. I think Danny is great and i think Adam and his supporters should be talking bad about Danny, he is a threat.

Danny Gokey is AMAZING!!!! everyone who says he is horrible is stupid and needs to get a life. I also hate adam lambert and think he needs to get a life too. the judges are right, danny is amazing. i like that he gets into the song and he interacts with the crowd. Look, I called him to win the show from his first audition, I even sent him a message on myspace day 1. He is amazing, and can sing better than all of them.

yeah, adam can hit the high notes, and is great…. but where do you see him going in this day and age…? adam is meant to be on theatre.

Danny is going to win.. adam is not in my top 3 danny your a sh@!@##@!
