Adam Lambert — Satisfaction — MP3 and Video — American Idol 8 Top 36

Adam Lambert sings “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones on American Idol 8 Top 36

I thought that was brilliant.

In classic American Idol fashion, Simon Cowell gives a lukewarm reception to one of the front-runners. Adam Lambert could win this.

Too screechy for me! He sounds like a male version of Fantasia, and that’s not a compliment!

My pick for group 2: Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and Megan Corkrey.

Regardless of his crazy vocal, I think Adam is more of an acquired taste. He’s really not the typical Idol contestant as compared to Lil Round or Danny Gokey but I think the exposure is going to be great for him.

Isn’t Adam gorgeous? His stage presence is NUTS, and none of the others can touch his performance skills. But is Randy right about relevance in today’s music industry? I can’t tell yet.

i agree with simon. some very good notes lots of excruciating parts and I think the song choice was arrogant. the whole “i wanna recreate these songs and make them something else” is good if he plans on doing karaoke for the rest of his life.

this doesn’t give you any indication of what a record from him might sound like.

i think people well look pass the obvious faults of this performance because hes a front runner and much hyped about. i mean he was in wicked!(note sarcasm)

I do however think it was TONS better than most of the other performances tonight.

I agree with Kara, that range is insane. But, I think he pushed it as far as he dare tonight. Adam and Allison where the only two who really got it the lesson of last week, with this format you have to bring it.

    Exciting performance!
This guy is a singer & a stage presence & was thoroughly enjoyed by moi!

Adam is good looking with great hair & the confidence necessary to pull it all off.

I wonder how long it’ll take for Simon to light into Adam’s singing style, especially the ultra high notes, once he’s in the Final 12? And… he’s slotted in the Final 12, no doubt.

Um that was an amazing performance by Adam..he is definitely the front runner. Easily out performed anyone from this week or last week.. Danny should be shakin in his shoes…Adam has mad vocals and he can perform the hell out of song. No way he doesn’t make it to the finale…no way!

That performance right there just proves why I loved him the second he finished his audition. I’m so glad that I made him my pick because he could very well win this. It was just SO much more than I expected this week, it was awesome.

    GO ADAM!!!

maybe the best tonight. has a good voice and performance skills but he doesn’t strike me as major label recording talent. he’s likely better off doing his own thing.

this 2nd week was full of lousy contestants.

That was such a flippin’ amazing performance by Adam!! I knew from the very beginning that he was my pick to win it and I usually don’t have a favorite right away. He just stands out far away from the rest!! I’m sooo worried though cuz I’ve gotten through about 300 times already with no busy signals.

There is no doubt this guy can sing and entertain but still a little over the top for me. I ask myself “Would I buy this guys album?” The answer is “no.” “Would I go see him at a Broadway show”? Yes.

I hated the song, but he can definitely blow. Wow. He should totally be in a Glam band w/ the way he does those higher notes. I actually really like it when he does those kind of notes b/c it reminds me of the good ole rock from the 80′s :)
I hate watching his mouth while he sings though. It reminds me of overdramatic drag queens lipsynching. (If you watch Drag Race you’d agree! heh… god I love that show….)

You have to hear and see Adam singing “Is Anybody Listening” in the play, The Musical Ten Commandments starring Val Kilmer. Adam’s voice is just amazing and with such high vocal range. His vocals are unbelievable in this song which showcases his beautiful voice.

Love, love, love, love, love him!!! He is my favorite this season so far. My sister called him my “Blake” of Season 8 :)

Plus he just got the teenage girl vote by saying he likes “Twilight”!!! And Randy comparing him to Robert Pattinson! Good move on Adam’s part!

U had 2 love Adam’s version of “Satisfaction” – fabulous! He and Alison were far and away the best two.

But I laughed when Simon compared Adam to Edward Cullen from Twilight – he IS almost too good looking, isn’t he? I’m glad he’s got a little acne scarring otherwise I’d think her really was one of those perfect looking vampires from Twilight. Anyway, he’s my fav so far.

Huh. I just figured he had a lot of freckles, which he does. I guess I haven’t noticed any scarring.

Adam’s vocal is crazy good. I could listen to it a million times over. The performance was a bit different for me, because I’m used to seeing it with Mick’s sexual prowl, and Adam and Mick are about as similar as an apple and a lawn chair. But I love Adam’s confidence, and I’m so glad the song spoilers we’d been hearing weren’t correct.

I’m dreading the day when the sexuality becomes an issue. I don’t want it to be, because he’s far and away good enough to be on that stage. But I just don’t have confidence in America’s vote, I guess.

I think it’s freckling too. If you look at a picture of him sans make-up, he has a TON of freckles. I don’t think he’s acne scarred at all.

Good find, snuffles! I always thought it was acne scarring too and suspected it was because of the thick makeup he wears for theater.

Nevertheless, he needs to go easy on the makeup, though. He’d look so much better with a little less.

kelsey41, I have the same fear about America’s vote and AI producers based on the edits he’s getting a.k.a the theatrical card. But at least when the judges say “Broadway suits you better” it isn’t so bad of a death sentence because Adam is already there and doing well enough.

    That was an excellent performance.

He is sometimes theatrical… which makes me appreciate Cookie so much more (who also had music theater background, albeit not as much, and yet NEVER was too-theatrical.)

But, Adam was fearless and flawless – and he made it look effortless.
