R&B is not my thing, and Anoop’s vocals WERE a little weak, but Simon’s right about likability. He’s very charming, and amber’s in love with him, so we have to keep him in the game.

The expectations are very high for Anoop because he is very talented.

The song opened nicely, then slightly veered out of control.

Yet, I have confidence in him & he’ll do better next week, cuz he’ll be back.

OMG the backup singers are so full of phail. Ricky Minor should fire them all! Anoop will do so much better with a song that requires no backup singer.

Agree with the judges. I think he is actually much better than we heard tonight.

Sounds like in the interview at the end that he was a little nervous — so hopefully he will get back to where he was before at an extremely high level during Hollywood Week.

The performance didn’t do anything for me, still like his initial audition the best. Sounds like the judges will get him through on Wildcard night if he doesn’t make the third spot tonight.

pitchy, but felt he had the most voice control of the group. hope he gets through. and he doesnt need backup singers…ever. they were full of fail.

next week? he’s not singing next week , group number 2 is going next week , than group 3 and than the wild card round, so who ever doesn’t get picked from this week won’t sing again for at least 4 weeks till the top 12 , anyways danny will be the highest male vote , i’m pretty sure alexia(sp?) grace will get the female spot , it will be really tough to see who gets the 3rd spot , no one really stood out like they’ll be the winner of the show. don’t get me wrong i really like anoop and i hope he does good , but with only 1 spot open out of 10 other ppl its gonna be hard.

I really liked his performance. He didn’t seem pitchy to me. I think the judges have trouble hearing in the studio. It’s going to be really hard to make it through this round since so few are let through, but I’m hoping he makes it because I think it will be a better show with him in the top 12.

haha its alright i kept forgetting that too since im used to the format they changed to the past few years. if anoop doesn’t make it threw he’ll have a good shot at the wild card. it seems to be down to mike saver , anoop and ricky brady for the 3rd spot with Alexis Grace and Danny making the top male and female votes.

Big fan of Noopdawg, but he wasn’t amazing last night. Still, probably good enough to get the 3rd spot.

That said, have we seen this guy sing anything other than circa-90’s r&b (on AI or with the Clef Hangers)? It’s clearly his comfort zone. I actually would like to see what he can do with something not in his wheelhouse…might be surprisingly better even.

I would have loved to hear him sing this slowed down a bit with just an acoustic guitar in the background, sans cheesy effects and backup singers.

I think Anoop was really nervous, you can hear it in his voice. I wonder how the iTunes version will turn out? I hope he makes it through tonight, I really like this kid.

If that song Angel of Mine will be re-recorded completely by Anoop in CD, it will be a great money maker.

I’m a musician and had been musical director for years, I have been right in selecting the best in American Idol.
