I like Joanna! I thinks she’s pretty and ‘rocker light’.

Joanna Pacitti was previously signed with A&M and Geffen Records, her song “Out from Under” has been covered by Britney Spears for her 2008 album Circus.

She was good, but I hate that she had a record deal in the past. Idol should be a place for people who would have otherwise never had the opportunity to get a record deal. Not people who’s albums flopped.

Meh… she’s very pretty, but I really didn’t find anything spectacular about her voice. She’s not memorable. She sounds like alot of other girls that audition.

They tried to pretend she wasn’t a plant. Sure. Like Kara just happened to recognize her with her “I know you…” schpiel. Okay. Got the former record deal out of the way. Clear the deck.

So why oh why did her ANNIE/Broadway/lawsuit story not get brought up?

That’s how she made a name for herself. Not because she was in Annie. But because she was let go before she was supposed to star on Broadway in a revival.

Good voice. Carly v.2? Ok, here’s my take on the Idol plants…so what?!

Agreed, this show is for undiscovered talent and finding the next superstar(s). But with these plants, Carly included, they are undiscovered by America. Often times they have really crappy marketing campaigns, or record companies who want to do something with their image to fit the current time and it doesn’t fit with their individual personality, so you know, America either ignores it or hates it.

I say let them audition! The only rule is that they can’t have a current recording contract. So, does that mean folks like Kenny Rogers and TLC can audition as well? As long as they are not currently managed, right? HA!

Anyway, let them go and let America decide. These plants are new and fresh to the majority of the American eyes. Sometimes they just need an opportunity for EXPOSURE, not just a recording deal.

Great singers & entertainers FTW!!! (However they get there…)

She’s already had a bunch of chances to make it in the business and failed. It was probably her fault. She had a song featured in Legally Blonde and that Nancy Drew movie. She’s not an amateur, and this is an amateur competition.

Dude, she hadn’t even sung yet and she was weeping? Man, I hope she makes it to top 36… every season needs its emotional train-wreck contestant.

She really is gorgeous.

But something just seems a bit off here. Kara’s introduction sounded forced and artificial — like it was supposed to clear the air or any controversy up front before she even started singing.

Not sure why things didn’t work out for her, and all the best to her — but I’m really not thinking that this competition is where she should be.
