Many of those opposed to gay marriage are staunch Republicans. Do the writers of this show hope to sway their opinion by (right at the start!) telling us it will be a “bright Obama day”?
More importantly, many opposed to gay marriage take their religion very seriously. hey have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. Casting a comedian in this role — Jack Black, no less — is not likely to sway any opinions.
The idea should be to gather support for this cause from those who are opposed to it. You don’t do that by ridiculing the beliefs of those you’re trying to persuade.
I’m sorry to say I don’t foresee this clip changing very many opinions.

i don’t really think it was meant to change opinions, but ok.

It wasn’t meant to persuade those religous zealots it was meant to mock them…which it did quite effectively.

I agree. And besides people with tunnel vision can not be swayed, because it’s their way and no other way. This is a human rights issue and it saddens me to no end that people go out of their way to create misery for other human beings. Oh well.
And I like this video so much, that I would like to see something like this on Broadway.

The clip was not complete. They should have had the “bright Obama Day” people march over to churches and temples, cuss out poor old people, and call them biggots. Then they could have showen them mailing white powder to LDS temples and making people resign from their jobs because they voted yes.
After all that is what really happened. Way to stop hate with hate.

Cuss out poor old people? What about taking away the rights of poor gay people? Don’t play the victim now when it’s the gay people that are the victims here. Cindylouhoo, if gay people get married does it affect your marriage if you are married? I don’t think so. Live and let live.

cindylouhoo…way to not take a satire for what it’s worth, just comedy. Perhaps what it is saying is hitting to close to home?
Mikey, cindylouhoo can’t live and let live, cuz shes just ignorant to equal rights cuz her religion tells her gays are morally evil. plain and simple ignorance…nothing more.

Be excited then! Cuz the creators of South Park are already working on MORMON: The Musical and bringing it to broadway.
The South Park creators are the masters of showing the hypocrisy of America, can’t wait for them to finally show the truth about Mormons.
