Kellie Pickler is indeed a redhead. Woot! I like this color on Kellie. It makes her look a bit more sophisticated to me, since we’re used to her image being the ditzy blonde.

Kellie Pickler – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition 1

Kellie Pickler was the celebrity volunteer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition tonight.

She helped build a new home for James Terpenning and his family. James is a wheelchair-sports champion who mentors disabled Iraq War veterans. He was stricken with polio when he was a baby in Vietnam.

Before the reveal, Kellie sang for the the volunteers.

I like this show, although I’m a bit concerned that they don’t promote recycling. What happened to the old house that was demolished? Did it just go to the junk heap? I think a lot of that old house could have been used for something.

Q: What are your favorite shoes right now?

A: It’s Christian Louboutin. [I though she said Louis Vitton at first. She had to spell the brand name out for me since I know zip about shoes, which she said, "I'm impressed you don't know! It's probably a good thing for a man!"] His shoes are immaculate. They are so beautiful and sexy. All the shoes are red on the bottom. And red is my favorite color.

Kellie Pickler will open Taylor Swift’s 50-city Fearless Tour 2009, which kicks off April 23 in Evansville, Ind.

The two singers bonded when they toured with Brad Paisley in 2007. “We clicked pretty well,” Kellie told me the other day. “We make each other laugh. Her mom was so good to me out on the road — I call her Mama Swift. She just took really good care of me on the road. Her parents took me under their wing, and Taylor and I have been like sisters ever since.”

Kellie Pickler’s self-titled sophomore CD comes out tomorrow. Kellie is also co-hosting Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, so the next few months looks very good for Kellie.

All country songs sound the same to me, so I can’t really tell if this is good country or not, but I like this CD!
