Kelly Clarkson blogs about the incident with Kanye West and Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Watch the video here.
She writes:
—–
Dear Kanye,
What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??
I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.
On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!
Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!

Those graphic artists sure love Photoshopping Kelly Clarkson. First were her bubblegum covers from her latest CD All I Ever Wanted.
Now, Kelly has lost a boatload of weight on the cover of SELF. It’s a bit ironic since Kelly admits to the ups and downs of her weight, but apparently doesn’t look good enough with the added pounds for the cover. Yes, be proud of how you look and thank @god for Photoshop.

Here’s the statement from Ryan Tedder regarding the controversy surrounding Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone and Beyonce’s Halo from MJ’s Big Blog:
=====
“Already Gone” is one of the best song I’ve written or produced since “Bleeding Love” and stands tall on it’s own merits apart from “Halo”.
They are two entirely different songs conceptually, melodically, & lyrically and I would never try to dupe an artist such as Kelly Clarkson or Beyoncé into recording over the same musical track, the idea is both hurtful & absurd.
I think when people hear “Already Gone” they will hear what I hear-one of the greatest female vocalists on earth giving her most haunting and heart-breaking performance on a song she helped write.
I challenge people to listen and form their own opinions.”

Kelly Clarkson guests on So You Think You Can Dance.
She sang I Do Not Hook Up. We were hoping for something else, but Kelly was awesome as usual. Also, this was pre-taped, and Fox really had sloppy editing which was a bit disappointing.
Go Kelly!

Reader’s Digest talked to Kelly Clarkson recently before she begins the busiest part of her tour in its latest issue:
Q. You have taken your share of lumps, especially around your weight. Does it mean a lot to you to show girls that you don’t have to be skinny to be successful?
A. I recently gave a self-esteem workshop for Girl Scouts in Nashville, and I told the girls that I wasn’t a role model for my weight, because I change. Sometimes I’m thicker when I’m around my family and I’m eating more. Sometimes I’m thinner because I’m on the road and that takes a lot out of me. But I do feel it’s important to talk to girls about weight. They see these images, and there’s no way they’ll ever live up to them. I want them to see someone who is real and know they don’t have to live up to anything.

Yay! Congratulations Kelly Clarkson!
On the Charts: Kelly Clarkson’s “All I Ever Wanted” Grabs Top Spot From U2 (Rolling Stone)
U2’s reign atop the charts was short-lived as Kelly Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted sold 254,000 copies, giving the former American Idol champ her first number one since her 2003 self-titled debut. Despite landing at the top spot, All I Ever Wanted sold less in its first week than her 2007 release, My December, which sold 291,000 and peaked at No. 2. The-Dream’s second album Love vs. Money sold roughly 100,000 fewer copies than Clarkson’s but enough to wind up at No. 2–a vast improvement over the number 30 peak of his debut album Love Hate. U2’s No Line on the Horizon dropped down to third; J. Holiday’s Round 2 debuted at four and Taylor Swift’s mercurial Fearless landed at five.

Kelly Clarkson, whose fourth album “All I Ever Wanted” is due out on March 10, returns to the SNL stage as musical guest. Clarkson, who has sold over twenty million records worldwide, first appeared on the music scene during the first season of “American Idol” in 2002. Clarkson beat out more than 10,000 people to land the $1 million recording contract as the show’s first winner. Her first single, “A Moment Like This” came out in late September of 2002 and sold nearly 250,000 copies in its first week. Her superstardom was secured with “Breakaway” in 2005, which sold over ten million copies, spun off five Top Ten hits, and stayed on the charts for two full years. The platinum-selling follow-up, “My December”, arrived in 2007. Clarkson has had nine of her singles becoming Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, she joined VH1’s list of 10 sexiest women of the new millennium at #8 and also hit #28 on Vh1’s Top 30 Hottest Rock Front Women. As of 2008 she is one of the 10 most played artists on adult contemporary radio. Clarkson won over 60 awards and received over 100 nominations. She has won 2 Grammy Awards (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance “Since U Been Gone”, Best Pop Vocal Album “Breakaway”).
