Adam Lambert debuts at #3 on the Billboard 200 with 198,000 copies of “For Your Entertainment”. He beats Kris Allen’s sales of 80,000 copies last week. He also beat David Archuleta’s opening week sales of 183,000 last year. How much Adam will sell in the coming year is up in the air. Despite massive promotions and a high-profile performance at the AMA awards, Adam’s singles have not seen widespread radio airplay. He’s also switched the carrier single to “Whataya Want From Me” instead of “For Your Entertainment” which he sang at the AMAs.
The rest of the top albums on the Billboard 200:
1. Susan Boyle “I Dreamed a Dream” – 701,000
2. Andrea Bocelli “My Christmas” – 218,000
3. Adam Lambert “For Your Entertainment” – 198,000
4. Rihanna “Rated R” – 181,000
5. Lady Gaga “The Fame Monster” – 174,000
6. Lady Gaga “The Fame” – 151,000
7. Miley Cyrus “The Time Of Our Lives” – 150,000
8. Taylor Swift “Fearless” 125,000
9. Carrie Underwood “Play On” – 124,000 (Up 44% from last week, woohoo!)
10. Norah Jones “The Fall” – 110,000

Guess what I discovered on my TweetDeck this morning? Adam Lambert flirting with a fan on Twitter! (Thanks to everyone for sending this in).
@adamlambert tweeted:
- You have a great smile. Caught my eye as I was reading the twats.
how’s Florida?
And then:
- Woops.
buuusted.
I took a screencap since he deleted the tweets already (good thing it was still on my TweetDeck!):

Allison Iraheta’s debut album “Just Like You” is now available for download everywhere!
My favorite songs are: “Robot Love”, “Don’t Waste The Pretty” and “Holiday”
This is an excellent debut from Allison Iraheta.
Just read this tweet from @SadaoTurner, Ryan Seacrest’s assistant:
- No clue. Those decisions at much higher level than me lol. RT @stlouis1gal: @SadaoTurner rumors that @AdamLambert’s cancelled frm NYE, true?
I think it’s time we do a pre-emtive strike and let Dick Clark Productions and ABC know that we want to see Adam Lambert on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve before they make any announcement. There’s going to some good news in the coming days that will take focus away from the AMA scandal — namely that Adam doubled the sales of Kris Allen and beat Lady GaGa in the charts. We can use that as leverage right? Scandal was good for sales? People still love him?
So what do you guys say? Let’s trend: #AdamRockinEve

Adam Lambert is a trail-blazer after all. He just forced Disney to review their live shows after last week’s AMA performance which involved:
1. Simulated oral sex on-stage with backup dancers
2. Kissing a man
3. Giving the middle finger to the audience
From Reuters:
Disney/ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney told Reuters that in reaction to the Lambert performance, Disney was reviewing the steps it takes to vet live performances by getting assurances from artists that their stage shows will resemble their rehearsals, and using contractual obligations to hold them to that.

Adam Lambert tweeted this morning that he is going in “a new direction.” He said that the AMA performance was a “one time event.”
A new direction so soon? One week later??? LOL C’mon Adam, FIGHT. You’ve already successfully turned your most ardent fans into gay activists by saying that ABC and CBS discriminated against you because you are a gay male, and they along with bloggers like Perez Hilton were able to overturn Good Morning America’s decision to have Chris Brown perform. Why stop now? #ArtisticFreedomNow
Via @adamlambert:
- ellen:airing 2m.Singing ‘whatya want from me’! AMA performance was a one time event. Goin in a new direction now. Focus back on the music.
- Don’t worry friends: I’m still gonna be me. Always. W/o appologies. Just gonna experiment differently w how I present myself.
- I’m learning.

Kris Allen was on the cover of USA Weekend.

MJ’s Big Blog has videos of Danny Gokey at Grafton High School.
Here’s a video of “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me”. I like this single! I hope it has legs.
Nice fact: Danny Gokey is the first third-place finisher to be signed by 19 Records. True! He broke the trend. Third place will not be the kiss of career death anymore moving forward. Although, Syesha Mercado is currently headlining the Dreamgirls tour which isn’t so bad. Other notable third-placers who are still working are Kimberley Locke, Melinda Doolittle and Elliott Yamin.

HITS Daily Double is predicting that Susan Boyle will debut with the #1 album next week — and is on target to sell 625-675K. Adam Lambert looks like a lock for #2 with 210-230K. Lady Gaga will be at #3 with 190-210k. I’m a little confused with Lady GaGa’s total because she released two albums this week an EP and a two-disc set. Combined she will sell more than Adam, but they will probably take those album sales separately.
This is great news for us here at Rickey.org — because as everyone knows we are big fans of Susan Boyle, Adam Lambert and Lady GaGa.
Keep on buying these stocking stuffers!

TopIdol has put together a Twitter timeline of last night’s events at Juliet / The Box involving a “tranny” and Adam Lambert. Basically Adam was sitting in the front row and a guy peed on him from the stage as part of a performance. Adam threw a drink on the guy in return. LOL. Right now I love Twitter.
Update: From @AdamLambert:
- Tranny pee: performer rigged device to make it seem like he was peeing on front row during show. It was a funny trick. We all freaked!

Adam Lambert sings “Whataya Want From Me” on Late Night with David Letterman.
As much as some of you love to hear him speak without a filter, it was very refreshing to see Adam just sing after the scandals of the past couple of days.

Michael Slezak interviews Adam Lambert on Realite regarding the AMA scandal and fallout.
There is one thing I have issue with in this interview. Adam says in the end: “That’s my thing. And if people don’t get that by now… where have… I don’t… have you seen my album cover?” and then: “Don’t take me so seriously people, calm down.”
Hopefully it will help Adam deal with the situation better if he realized that:
1. Not everybody watched the American Idol TV show — so he shouldn’t assume that everybody knows “his thing”.
2. Not everybody watched the American Idol Tour over the summer to see his “sexy act” — so he shouldn’t assume that everybody knows “his thing”.
3. The American Music Awards was his chance to showcase himself and expand his audience beyond his 200,000+ followers on Twitter who profess to “getting it” — so he shouldn’t assume that the AMA audience knows “his thing”.

Woohoo! Let’s keep on buying For Your Entertainment so we can assure that this is the number.
Billboard is projecting that Adam Lambert will sell 225,000 copies this week of his debut album — surpassing Lady Gaga! Congratulations fans! All the hard work is paying off.
Continue reading: Adam Lambert – Predicted to Sell 225K This Week – Billboard
OK, this is a lower number than what we posted yesterday. USA Today posted some numbers for the Idols and Kris Allen will finish #11 this week selling just over 80,000 copies, officially giving Kris Allen the lowest opening-week sales of any American Idol winner.
Adam Lambert’s early recording album Take One sold a respectable 11,000 copies.
Update: Here are the numbers from Billboard:
1. John Mayer “Battle Studies” – 286,000
2. Andrea Bocelli “My Christmas” – 185,000
3. Norah Jones “The Fall” – 180,000
4. Casting Crowns “Until the Whole World Hears” – 167,000
5. 50 Cent “Before I Self Destruct” – 160,000
6. Justin Bieber “My World” – 137,000
7. Michael Jackson “This Is It” – 96,000
8. Twilight Saga New Moon Soundtrack – 93,000
9. Carrie Underwood “Play On” – 86,000
10. Taylor Swift “Fearless” 84,000 (note that this album debuted last year at #1 when David Archuleta released his album which debuted at #2 — wow, Taylor, beastly!)
11. Kris Allen “Kris Allen” – 80,000
So Taylor Swift beat both Kris Allen and David Archuleta and is dating Taylor Lautner. Ugh. We’re rivals! LOL

Adam Lambert was at the CBS Early Show this morning.
During Adam’s interview he gave his now form responses to the questions about the controversial performance on the AMAs:
1. Adam admits that ABC was taken by surprise by his “impromptu” moves which he did not do during rehearsal (simulated oral sex, kissing a guy, etc.)
2. It did not cross his mind that children could be watching
3. He is unapologetic about offending people (he repeated his: “I’m not a baby sitter” comment)
4. He said that because he is a gay male that people have a double standard against him (even as the interviewer smartly pointed out people complained about the “venue” not him being gay)
But what made scratch my head again was when he said: “Sometimes I forget the camera is on.” Really? You are not aware that you are performing in front of millions of people? Very strange.
Here’s the interview video and performances of “Whataya Want From Me” and “Music Again”:

The Billboard 200 charts come out on Thursday. Nielsen SoundScan should have numbers tomorrow. However, Hits Daily Double is already predicting that Kris Allen will be the lowest-selling American Idol winner in the first week moving 84,846 copies. Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood and the soundtrack of Twilight Saga New Moon outsold him.
Jordin Sparks previously held the record with 119,100 copies on her first week, but she went on to sell more than a million copies for her debut album. The worst-selling Idol winner’s debut album for now is Taylor Hicks with 704,000 total.
Wow. Kris Allen did not sell 100,000 on his first week, even with pre-orders.

Wow. I have no words. Well actually I do.
So Adam Lambert refused to talk about gay politics and decides to show the finger on live television to the editor of OUT Magazine… and when he gets criticized for his lewd performance on the AMAs and gets removed from a high profile performance on Good Morning America, he cries discrimination. Perez Hilton comes to his rescue. The uber-fans become gay activists overnight on Twitter.
