MJ’s Big Blog is reporting that Jason Castro is engaged to Mandy Mayhall. He proposed to her yesterday before an Oklahoma – Kansas State football game in Norman, OK. Another Happy Hallopeen!

I saw this pic yesterday, but I did not see any caption on my TweetDeck, so duh. Thought it was a costume thingy.

Maybe I should verify this with my sources… Nevermind, MJ’s is reliable.

UPDATE: CONFIRMED. Jason is engaged.

Well that was disappointing. Jason Castro’s album won’t be released on Nov. 17 as originally planned.

MJ’s Big Blog has the e-mail Jason Castro sent to his fans today (which I didn’t get BTW even if I’m on the mailing list and pre-ordered):

“I previously told you that the album would be out in November, but it’s going to be early next year instead. As much as I can’t wait to get my music out there, I really don’t want to rush anything either.”

Jason Castro’s brother Michael Castro has made it to the next round of auditions, after trying out again in Dallas this week. Last season, Michael was cut in Hollywood Week and did not make the Top 36.

First Jamar Rogers and now Michael Castro. Hmmm… Maybe the show is setting them up for “something”. We’ll see what happens.

Everyone’s reporting it. It’s like the BIGGEST news item in Idol-land.

But didn’t we know this a couple of days ago with the Billboard.com interview and the Kara DioGuardi YouTube video? I’m kinda like OK — how many days are we going to announce that Jason Castor signed with Atlantic Records? I’ll probably announce it again tomorrow just for kicks.

Anyway, officially, congratulations Jason Castro! I hope you got a good advance package.
