The Atlanta Pride Committee is excited to announce beatboxing “American Idol” alum Blake Lewis as the headliner in our finalized entertainment lineup for year’s Oct. 31-Nov. 1 festival. Lewis, who was voted as runner-up to Jordin Sparks in Season 6, takes Pride’s Coca Cola stage by storm on Sunday, Nov. 1.

“We think Blake’s diverse fan base will draw some new people to the park on Sunday,” says J. Sheffield, Atlanta Pride event manager. “In addition to Blake, our Entertainment Committee, in close collaboration with Q&A Entertainment, reviewed hundreds of applicants to select a lineup that we’re really proud of.”

Blake Lewis IRS Tax Lien 3

This is an unfortunate bit of news.

The Tax Watchdog of the Detroit News is reporting that the IRS has filed a $124,798 lien against Blake Lewis on July 10 in the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds office.

Blake’s publicist however says that everything has been resolved, although a lien release has yet to be filed at the LA County Recorder’s office.

Who digs up this stuff?

Here’s the job description of the blogger at the Detroit News: “He focuses on state and federal tax liens and, based on public records, interviews and Detroit News archives, identifies those who don’t pay income, business and property taxes.”

Sheesh. He blogs to shame people. How awful.

Blake Lewis told me: “We were Twitter battling”. LOL. If you are following @BlakeLewis and @rickey, you know that we were tweeting and uploading pictures during the show. It was also great because we were on opposite sides of the stage!

I learned that Blake was asking where I was, so after the show, I looked for him. It was easy, there was a mob of fans wanting to get a picture with him.

I actually spotted Blake during Beggin’ — in the video after the jump, you can see me get excited in the audience.

Also, I tried to video Blake during Adam Lambert’s set — and the result was Adam’s boots then Blake Lewis’s face. LOL

What’s up with the word “Battlefield” and American Idol Season 6-ers? First Jordin Sparks, and now Blake Lewis. He says “Battlefield” a lot in his new single “Sad Song”. Did Sanjaya say “Battlefield” on “I’m a Celebrity…” as well? I don’t remember.

This single is very 80’s… again. I feel like I’m in a time warp.

Blake Lewis to Release Dance-Pop Album “Heartbreak on Vinyl” Comments Off

Blake Lewis’s second album Heartbreak on Vinyl will be release on Oct. 6 via Tommy Boy Records.

“The music in the dance scene gets me out onto the dance floor to lose my inhibition,” Lewis says of the inspiration behind his new project. “The title is an ode to all the record stores that have been closing down due to my industry eating itself. These are the stores that brought inspiration to all of us music lovers and have led me to make the music I create today.”
