2016 Razzie Awards Nominations: ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, ‘Fantastic Four’, ‘Pixels’

With Oscar nominations only a day away, the Golden Raspberry nominees have been revealed! The Razzies, which single out the absolute worst in film for the year, will take place on Saturday, February 27, the night before the 88th Academy Awards. But who will be competing for Hollywood’s tackiest honor? Well, a lot of familiar faces such as Adam Sandler and Katherine Heigl, and a couple of Academy Award winners, including Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Worst Picture isn’t exactly a shocker, as Fantastic Four competes with Fifty Shades of Grey, Pixels, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Jupiter Ascending, which dominates in acting categories with nominations for Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis and the aforementioned Redmayne. Johnny Depp is also in the Razzie crosshairs due to the box office bomb Mortdecai, while Jennifer Lopez finds herself a Razzie nominee once more thanks to The Boy Next Door. All in all, the nominations are basically what you’d expect from Hollywood’s most cynical awards show. Interestingly, however, the Razzies are allowing several repeat offenders a shot at redemption through the Razzie Redeemer category, which honors previous Razzie winners who’ve turned their careers around. This year, the nominees include Elizabeth Banks, M. Night Shyamalan, Will Smith and Sylvester Stallone.
