2016 Golden Globes – Full Winners List

The 2016 Golden Globes are in the record books, and it was a night which saw a lot of the wealth spread out in surprising ways.

For instance, presumed Oscar frontrunner Spotlight was basically shut out in favor of The Revenant, which pretty much swept the ceremony with wins for Best Picture (Drama), Best Director for Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for Leonardo DiCaprio. In short, tonight gave The Revenant a massive Oscar boost, as Iñárritu is poised to sweep the Oscars for two straight years. However, it’s not all said and done just yet, as there’s still considerable competition, and not just in the form of critical favorites like Spotlight and Room. The Martian had a big night, winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) for Matt Damon, and Best Picture (Musical or Comedy). Yeah, I still have no idea how The Martian is a comedy, other than to chalk this up to more awards season politicking/category fraud. But hey, The Martian was outstanding, so I’m not exactly mad about this.
