’12 Years A Slave’ Leads Gotham Independent Film Awards Nominations

The first big nominations of the 2013 film awards season are in, and 12 Years A Slave is the leader. The American slavery epic earned three nominations with the Gotham Independent Film Awards, including Best Feature. The movie already has considerable Oscar buzz, and these honors will only add to the movie’s huge profile.

In addition to the competitive awards, Forest Whitaker and Richard Linklater will receive special tributes at the ceremony. Winners will be announced on Dec. 2.
